Hi Jamie, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely! I’d hire me because I know I care deeply about people and their experience from start to finish. I don’t just show up with a camera — I show up ready to connect, make you feel comfortable, and tell your story in a way that feels true to you. I bring a mix of professionalism and playfulness, so you’ll laugh, relax, and actually enjoy the process. I’d also hire me because I know I’d be in good hands with someone who values both the big, emotional moments and the small, in-between ones that often go unnoticed. Plus, I only take on one client a day, so I know I’d get someone fully invested in making my photos (and experience) the best they can be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Colorado-based portrait and wedding photographer with over 18 years of experience capturing seniors, families, and weddings. My approach is laid-back and connection-driven — I believe the best photos happen when people feel comfortable, seen, and free to be themselves.
What makes my work unique is that I only take on one client per day so I can focus entirely on creating the best experience possible — from helping with styling and location guidance to timing sessions around the most flattering light. My goal is to capture authentic, joy-filled moments that tell your story — the real laughter, the in-betweens, and everything that makes your relationships special.
Right now, I’m focused on helping people slow down, connect, and celebrate this season of life through timeless, natural imagery that feels true to who they are.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Without a doubt, my relationship with God, my husband, and my kids have all deeply shaped how I see myself. My faith reminds me where my true worth comes from, and my family constantly teaches me about grace, patience, and unconditional love. Being a wife and mom has changed how I see beauty — not as perfection, but as the little moments of connection, laughter, and real life. Those relationships keep me grounded and inspire the way I photograph others — seeing them through a lens of genuine love and value.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes — I actually did step away for a while. After years of pouring everything into my business, I hit burnout and knew I needed to take a step back to focus on my health and my family. It was hard to pause something I loved so much, but that season gave me clarity and perspective. When I came back, I returned with a renewed sense of purpose — to create from a place of joy, connection, and balance rather than hustle. That time away reminded me why I do what I do and made me an even more intentional photographer and person.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Authenticity — in how I live, love, and create. My faith reminds me that we’re all wonderfully made, and that truth drives everything I do. In a world that often pressures us to look perfect or perform for others, I fiercely protect the value of being real. I want my clients, my kids, and anyone who crosses my path to feel safe to show up as they are — flaws, laughter, chaos, and all. That’s where the real beauty and connection live. Whether behind the camera or in everyday life, I believe being genuine, kind, and true to who God made us to be will always matter more than being polished.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I made them feel seen, valued, and loved — both in front of my camera and in everyday life. That I lived with kindness, faith, and purpose, and that I pointed others toward the beauty and worth God placed inside them. I want to be remembered as someone who used her gifts to lift others up, to capture joy and connection, and to remind people that their ordinary moments were actually quite extraordinary.
