Story & Lesson Highlights with Alphonse Simeone of Wheat Ridge

We recently had the chance to connect with Alphonse Simeone and have shared our conversation below.

Alphonse, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My Family, my son Enzo, my wife Megan and the very precious time that i spend with them.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, I’m Dr. Al Simeone, chiropractor and owner of The Disc Chiropractic. I help people get out of pain and back to living their lives .

What makes what we do a little different is we focus on disc and nerve health using a really specific technique called the Gonstead, I’m one of the 450 that practise it actually, plus we also offer proven and effective therapies such as spinal decompression and shockwave therapy, I believe were one of the few that offers these treatments here in Wheat Ridge.

I got into this after dealing with my own disc injury in high school. Chiropractic care literally got me back on my feet, and that experience pushed me to help others the same way. Now, I get to do that every day — and that’s honestly the best part of my job.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Definitely my mom, Andrea. She’s always been the one who saw potential in me long before I ever believed it myself. Through every stage of my life, she just had this quiet confidence that I’d find my way. Looking back, a lot of who I am and what I do now comes from that kind of belief she had in me.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d probably tell my younger self, “You’re not going pro in rugby, but don’t worry — you’ll end up fixing all the guys who tried to.” Honestly, everything worked out the way it was supposed to. Maybe I’d just tell him to enjoy the ride… and ice his back more often.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Hard work and accountability. I grew up in a family where if you said you were going to do something, you go ahead and do it — no excuses. That’s something I carry into how I run my practice and treat patients. You show up, put in the effort, and do things the right way.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
Definitely when I’m out in nature, especially here in Colorado. There’s something about being on a trail, up in the mountains, where it’s just quiet and still. Just me, my thoughts fresh air, and a view that reminds you how small you are in the best way. That’s when I feel completely at peace.
