Exploring Life & Business with Michelle Green of The Well Healing Center Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Green.

Hi Michelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My path with chiropractic care started when I was a child. As a child I was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and severe scoliosis. I was told I would need surgery and that my spine was collapsing on itself. I was in pain daily with headaches and body discomfort. My mother decided to try chiropractic first before an invasive procedure.

As I experienced chiropractic, specifically a gentle form of chiropractic, I noticed my pain in my body started to diminish. My anxiety began to dissipate and I was able to focus more clearly. I could live my life to my fullest again. I never did get that surgery and I decided to go to chiropractic school to offer the same life changing effects to others.

While in school, I trained in several techniques but specialized in a method known as NetworkSpinal, developed by Dr. Donald Epstein. I found profound nervous system effects from this work and I loved that it was gentle but effective. It did not involve any popping or twisting but had holistic benefits for the whole body.

While opening my practice I had two children who are both 18 months apart. My son was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent open heart surgery. He is healthy and strong now. This experience helped me find my passion for caring for children. The surgery helped my child survive but the chiropractic care helped his body unwind the stress of everything he went through. I went through special training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) to help offer children and families highly specialized care. My passion for caring for whole families stems from this experience with my son.

I currently practice in Lafayette doing my heart’s passion which is providing highly specific, NetworkSpinal chiropractic care for the local community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, although I truly love what I do and find my work deeply fulfilling. Like any business owner, challenges have come up along the way. When I opened my practice, I found out I was pregnant with my first child just a couple of months in. Soon after, I became pregnant with my son, which meant I was building a business while welcoming two children in under two years. It was an intense but meaningful way to start my entrepreneurial journey.

Alongside that, my son was born with a congenital heart condition and required open-heart surgery, which led me to step back from work to be fully present with him during a very critical time. That experience demanded a lot emotionally, physically, and professionally, but it also strengthened my perspective. He is healthy and thriving now, and walking through that season reshaped how I approach both life and work.

Being a mother and a business owner is a joyful and rewarding experience, but it requires constant adaptability. Those early challenges taught me resilience, clarity in my priorities, and deep compassion, all of which continue to guide the way I care for the families I serve today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My practice is centered around highly specific, gentle chiropractic care that focuses on the nervous system rather than just symptoms. I work with individuals and families of all ages, with a strong focus on women, children, and parents who are looking for a calm, supportive approach to healing. My work is not about force or quick fixes, but about helping the body create lasting change through improved nervous system regulation and reorganization.

I specialize in gentle, neurologically based chiropractic care, including NetworkSpinal and pediatric-focused care. What sets my practice apart is the depth of education and intention behind every visit. I take the time to help people understand what is happening in their bodies, how stress and life experiences are stored, and how the nervous system influences physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Patients often share that they feel seen, heard, and safe in my office, which is something I am deeply proud of.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of creating a space that feels warm, grounding, and empowering rather than clinical or rushed. My office is designed to support nervous system safety the moment you walk in, and my care is delivered with a focus on connection, trust, and consistency. I am known for providing care that is both gentle and highly effective, especially for those who may feel nervous about chiropractic or who have tried other approaches without success.

I want readers to know that my work is about creating health, not chasing symptoms, although symptoms often resolve. Whether someone is navigating chronic stress, pain, motherhood, childhood development, or simply wanting to feel more regulated and resilient in their day-to-day life, my practice exists to support the body’s natural ability to heal and adapt. This work is deeply intentional, family-centered, and rooted in the belief that when the nervous system is supported, everything else begins to function better. Your body has the ability to heal when given the right conditions, and that is the empowering approach I want every practice member to understand.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have been incredibly fortunate to have strong mentors and supporters along the way. I’ve trained with some of the best clinicians in the chiropractic profession, and their guidance continues to influence how I practice and care for others today. That foundation gave me confidence, skill, and a deep respect for the work I carry forward in my own office.

I am also grateful to be surrounded by inspiring women and entrepreneurs. Jen Morris and the community she has created through Renegade Motherhood have been an incredible source of connection, encouragement, and support. Being part of a community of powerful, values-driven mothers who are also business owners has made a meaningful difference throughout the growth of my practice. That group has consistently shown up as cheerleaders during both challenges and wins.

Entrepreneurship also runs in my family. I was raised by parents and a grandfather who owned their own businesses, and they modeled what it looks like to build something meaningful while using your gifts to serve others. Their example helped shape my belief that owning a business can be both fulfilling and impactful.

Finally, my husband deserves immense credit. He is my biggest cheerleader, a fellow business owner, and a constant source of support and encouragement. His belief in me and in this work has been foundational, and I truly could not do this without the support of the people around me.
