Story & Lesson Highlights with Mary Pavlantos DPT, CBIS of Louisville

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mary Pavlantos DPT, CBIS. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Mary, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
The higher divine power that guides me through each day! From the moment my toes hit the ground in the morning with the sun shining onto my skin, the higher power guides me on my way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Dr Mary Pavlantos PT. CBIS, a western trained physical therapist and brain injury specialist with a blend of a gift as a spiritual healer as an empath I have tapped into through my own healing experiences.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I was always aware of other people’s energy and felt energetic connections to the earth and the animals. I noticed as a young age animals and people always came to me for comfort especially during trying times because I had a special gift to shine the light and help them heal.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I had a terrible bout of COVID in 2021 which put me on my death bed as the virus attacked my nervous system but a voice, I call God, said “fight for your children Mary,” so I fought. A few months later a wild fire burned down the city I was working in… I ran covered in ashes. This event triggered severe PTSD in which I began to process my whole life of traumas at one time. From severe sexual traumas, loss of my childhood home, and murdered friends, to dodging bullets in a drive by shooting. It was horrific, flashbacks, screaming, blood… I just wanted it to all go away. I wanted peace …. So rather than taking my life or turning to drugs & alcohol, I found the divine peace within!! I found it through the light! Through all Gods creations… the sun, the moon, the earth, the stars, the laughter of my children, the birds and the breeze. I found my peace!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My ability to care and help others, even it it means I sacrifice my own time. I had to learn how to put my own oxygen in to heal before I could truly give everyone in my life and my patients the best version of myself.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I’ve been bullied my entire life because of my looks, my “grasshopper legs” and my “hairy Mary” Greekness. Women have hated me from a young age, I got choked against the lockers and beat up just for looking at someone wrong. I have always just shook it off and used it as ammunition to be an even better and more beautiful me! I decided that no one will put out my light, so I shine stronger and inspire anyone who has been beat down to just get up and blow them out of the waters. Don’t let anyone rain on your parade!
