Check Out Erin Arisman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Arisman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got my love of cookies from when I was little. My mom and I would do them every year for Christmas. Our family loved them so much that I had to do them every holiday or else my uncle would never let up about it. I then took some to a Bunko night with my friends, and one mentioned I should start a business doing them. I thought, there is no way I could make a cookie business work. I later got asked by my uncle to do them for him for some events he was doing, so I did. Then COVID happened and we had a group come together for our graduating seniors around our town and surrounding areas. I adopted 55 seniors from that group, they each got 3 cookies each and I personally cut, baked, decorated and delivered each of them. After that I got orders coming in and it kept growing every year, so my husband and I decided to make it a brick and mortar. It took some time to find the location, but we have been in our shop now since October 2024. We now offer a variety of sweets, pies, candies, and do a variety of custom items as well. I still love creating custom cookies for any occasion and can’t wait for what the future holds for our cookie and sweet shop.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been too smooth, we have had a few bumps along the way. Finding the location was our biggest hurdle, but we now have that, we just need more people to know we are here.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in custom decorated sugar cookies and cakes. I am most proud of how much I have learned along the way and that there is always something new to learn. We are a small business who listens to your needs and makes sure we achieve those needs to the best of our abilities.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
To grow enough to have employees and for it succeed.
