Hi Lane , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“About five years ago, my wife and I purchased our wood refinishing business, combining our shared love for craftsmanship and transforming spaces. We specialize in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, custom cabinetry, and hardwood floors, but really, we can refinish almost any wood surface in a home. What we love most is helping homeowners breathe new life into their spaces, whether it’s restoring a favorite piece or completely re-imagining a room. Over the years, our business has grown, but our focus has stayed the same: quality, attention to detail, and the joy of making homes beautiful and functional.”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a business is never without challenges, and our journey has certainly had its share. Professionally, we’ve faced the normal ups and downs of growing a small business, learning as we go, and finding ways to serve our customers better. But the biggest challenge by far has been personal—losing our daughter a few years ago. Navigating that grief while keeping our business running tested us in ways we could never have imagined. Through it all, we’ve relied on our faith, perseverance, and each other. That resilience has not only helped us heal but has strengthened us as individuals and as a company. We truly believe that our success comes from trusting God and never giving up, even when the road gets incredibly difficult.

Our work is all about helping homeowners bring out the beauty in their homes through wood refinishing. We specialize in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors, and full refacing projects, and we can refinish almost any wood surface. What sets us apart is our use of a topcoat UV-cured finish, which provides a durable, long-lasting surface that really protects and enhances the wood. We’re most proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients over the past five years and the transformations we’ve helped create. For us, it’s not just about wood—it’s about craftsmanship, attention to detail, and helping people love where they live

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that most people might not know is that our paths to wood refinishing weren’t traditional— I have a degree in computer programming, and my wife is an assistant director of Radiology with a background in Nuclear Medicine. Despite our professional backgrounds, we’ve combined our skills, attention to detail, and creativity to build a successful wood refinishing business together.
