Today we’d like to introduce you to Britni & Jeremy Girard.
Hi Britni & Jeremy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Honestly, none of this started with a big business plan. It started with creativity, people, and saying yes to things that felt meaningful.
Before weddings, our world revolved around stages. Britni spent years running a musical theater company, and Jeremy has been in full-time ministry as a worship and creative arts pastor for over 20 years. Storytelling, leading people, and creating experiences that actually move people have always been part of our lives—we just didn’t know weddings would become the place where all of that would collide.
In 2016, Britni shot a wedding almost on a whim. One turned into another, and then another, and before we knew it, this “side thing” quietly grew into something much bigger. What started organically turned into a full business built on trust, relationships, and telling stories the way they really felt. Our background in theater shaped everything—from knowing how to read a room to understanding when to gently guide and when to completely step out of the way. That’s where our documentary-meets-editorial style was born.
Working together as a married team changed everything. We care deeply about relationships—our clients, the vendors we work alongside, and the culture we create. Today, we’re building multiple creative businesses as a family while homeschooling our three kids, and we’re learning how to grow without losing the things that matter most.
More recently, Jeremy stepped away from being on church staff and we’ve been able to step into leadership in new ways—coaching, guest worship leading, and creating spaces for connection with other married entrepreneurs. That season gave rise to Accidental Power Couple, where we’re leaning into coaching, retreats, podcasting, and real conversations about marriage, creativity, and building something meaningful together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not even close. It’s been meaningful—but definitely not smooth.
We’re both strong-headed creatives and leaders, which can be an incredible strength and a real challenge when you’re married and building something together. Early on, we had to learn—sometimes the hard way—how to communicate, make decisions, and stay on the same team instead of trying to “win.” Investing in high-level masterminds and tools like the Enneagram and other personality frameworks played a huge role in helping us understand how we’re wired, how we lead differently, and how to work together with more grace and less friction.
There were also major creative pivots that didn’t come with neat plans. We closed our theater company. Jeremy eventually stepped away from full-time ministry. Both seasons involved walking away from things we loved without a clear roadmap for what was next. Add homeschooling, running a growing business, and raising three kids, and it’s easy to see how burnout quietly crept in.
By the beginning of 2025, we hit a point where we knew something had to change. We took a full sabbatical from both church work and our business, and that time was incredibly revealing. It forced us to slow down, get honest about what was in our hearts, and refocus on our family and our kids. It wasn’t about fixing everything—it was about remembering who we were and why we started building in the first place.
Looking back, the struggles shaped us just as much as the wins. They taught us that sustainable growth requires margin, that alignment matters more than momentum, and that the best work comes from a place of health—personally, creatively, and relationally.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our core, we’re storytellers. Our work centers around wedding photography and filmmaking, but more specifically, we specialize in capturing weddings and wedding weekends in a way that feels honest, connected, and deeply human. We blend a documentary approach with an editorial eye—knowing when to step in and gently guide and when to disappear and let real moments unfold.
What we’re known for is trust. Couples invite us into some of the most meaningful moments of their lives, and we take that responsibility seriously. We build relationships first, which allows people to feel comfortable being themselves in front of the camera. The result isn’t just beautiful imagery—it’s photos and films that bring people right back to how the day actually felt.
What we’re most proud of isn’t a specific accolade or milestone—it’s the experience we create. We’re proud of the calm presence we bring into high-energy days, the way we work seamlessly as a married team, and the long-term relationships we’ve built with couples, families, and fellow creatives. Many of our clients come to us through word of mouth, and that will always mean more to us than any metric.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just document events—we care deeply about people. Our background in theater, ministry, and leadership gives us a unique ability to read a room, anticipate moments, and serve in a way that’s grounded and intentional. We’re not chasing trends or trying to fit a mold. We’re focused on creating work that lasts, building businesses that support our family, and staying aligned with our values as we grow.
At the end of the day, we’re most proud that our work reflects who we are: relational, thoughtful, and rooted in trust.
Outside of weddings, that passion has expanded into Accidental Power Couple, where we support married entrepreneurs through coaching, retreats, and conversations centered on connection, leadership, and building life and business side by side.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is alignment—between our faith, our family, and the work we’re building. We’ve learned that success without connection isn’t actually success, and that the pace of life matters just as much as what you’re producing.
Our family is at the center of everything we do. Being present with our kids, protecting our marriage, and creating a life that allows for margin and togetherness shapes every decision we make. We care deeply about people, relationships, and the kind of culture we’re contributing to—whether that’s with our clients, our community, or the teams and creatives we work alongside.
We also value honesty and depth. We’re drawn to meaningful conversations, thoughtful work, and stories that reflect real life rather than perfection. That’s why trust is such a cornerstone of what we do—when people feel safe and seen, the most meaningful moments naturally follow.
Why does all of this matter so much? Because we’ve lived seasons where things were misaligned, and we know firsthand that slowing down, listening, and building with intention leads to work and a life that’s far more sustainable—and far more fulfilling.
