Daily Inspiration: Meet David Hayward

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Hayward.

Hi David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I became a mechanic after watching my mom get ripped off by a repair shop when I was really young. I was 12 I was old enough to understand but could not figure out why my mom kept paying. A few years later I ended up helping the guy down the street from me in his garage. skip forward a few years and we moved that little shop into a real shop here in aurora. that was in 1998. Fast forward a few more years and we needed a bigger place again. This time we moved into a 6000sqft stand-alone building with our own parking lot. That was in 2012. In 2021 I became the owner.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Wow, that’s a lot to type. It has not been an easy road my any means. Addiction, single parent with a disabled kid, single dad of 3 young ladies, 2 divorces. one thing is i have always had the support of my family!!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a master light duty auto tech that specializes in drive axles. The pride I take in making sure perfection is happening is far above anyone else. I try to make sure that everyone, even the ones that have no clue, are not being taken advantage of or being ripped off.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
life is a risk. you take risks everyday just by leaving your house. you can either chose to let it hold you back or risk it all every day
