Inspiring Conversations with Ray Ringsel of Wise Innocence by Ray Ringsel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Ringsel.

Hi Ray, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began long before I ever became a coach, speaker, or healer.

I was raised by two mentally and physically disabled parents in an environment where significant abuse, neglect and instability were part of daily life. By the age of three, I was already in therapy, learning to navigate challenges that most children should never have to face. Those early experiences taught me something that would later become the foundation of my life’s work: healing is possible, but no one heals alone.

At seventeen, I moved out on my own and began building a life that looked very different from the one I was born into. Later that year, I moved across the country and was honored to be crowned National American Miss Teen Colorado 2010. That opportunity opened doors for me to spend the next decade traveling as a public speaker, sharing messages about resilience, emotional intelligence, self-worth, and the power of transforming adversity into purpose.

Along the way, I pursued a career path that was anything but conventional. I’ve worked as a doctor’s assistant in a stem cell clinic, served as Captain of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, helped scale and operate multiple companies as a COO, taught every kind of fitness class imaginable and spent several years working in addiction and recovery. Each chapter gave me a deeper understanding of human behavior, healing, leadership, and what it truly takes to create lasting transformation.

For more than fifteen years, I’ve also worked as a coach, continually studying the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, spirituality, and embodied healing. Today, I am licensed and trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), somatic coaching, psychedelic-assisted therapies, and sound healing. What I’ve discovered through both my personal journey and professional experience is that true healing happens on every level of our being – mind, body, heart, and soul. When one of those pieces is neglected, transformation often remains incomplete.

The work I do today is not simply a career; it is the culmination of a lifelong journey. It is the integration of decades of personal healing, professional experience, and evidence-based modalities that have helped me and countless others create profound, sustainable change. My mission is to help people reconnect with themselves, reclaim their power, and remember that even the deepest wounds can become a source of wisdom, purpose, and strength.

Looking back, every challenge, every setback, and every unexpected chapter prepared me for the work I am honored to do today. My life has taught me that our stories do not define us – how we choose to transform them does.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. In many ways, the road has been anything but smooth.

Growing up in an environment marked by abuse, instability, and trauma created challenges that didn’t simply disappear when I became an adult. Like many people who experience adversity early in life, I found myself unconsciously recreating familiar patterns in my relationships and experiences. Despite achieving success professionally and accomplishing things I was proud of, there were still deeper wounds asking to be healed.

Some of the most difficult seasons of my life came not from my childhood, but from realizing that I was still carrying subconscious beliefs and survival patterns that were shaping my choices. There came a point where I had to stop asking, “Why is this happening to me?” and start asking, “What is this trying to teach me?” That shift changed everything.

My greatest awakening came when I took full ownership of my healing journey. Not ownership of what happened to me, but ownership of how I would move forward. I became deeply committed to understanding the mind, nervous system, emotions, relationships, and the subconscious patterns that influence our lives. What began as a personal quest for healing eventually became the foundation of my life’s work.

Today, I can honestly say that some of my greatest heartbreaks, setbacks, and challenges became my greatest teachers. They forced me to develop resilience, self-awareness, compassion, and a depth of understanding that no certification or training program could have provided on its own.

One of the core beliefs I share with my clients is that our struggles are often invitations. When we begin to view challenges, heartbreaks, failures, and setbacks as opportunities for growth rather than evidence that something is wrong with us, we change the trajectory of what is possible. We stop seeing ourselves as victims of our circumstances and begin seeing ourselves as active participants in our own transformation.

Looking back, I wouldn’t wish many of my experiences on anyone, but I am profoundly grateful for the wisdom they gave me. The lessons I learned through my own healing journey allow me to meet others with genuine empathy and help guide them through their own transformations. Every challenge I have overcome has ultimately become part of the bridge that allows me to serve others at a deeper level today.

As you know, we’re big fans of Wise Innocence by Ray Ringsel. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At its core, my work is about helping people come home to themselves.

I work with individuals who are successful on the outside but often feel disconnected, exhausted, stuck in old patterns, or carrying wounds that traditional approaches haven’t fully helped them heal. Many of my clients have spent years in personal development, therapy, coaching, or spiritual work and still feel like they’re missing a piece of the puzzle.

What I specialize in is helping people create transformation that isn’t just intellectual – it’s embodied. Real healing doesn’t happen when we simply understand our patterns. It happens when the mind, body, heart, and soul are brought into alignment.

My work is a unique integration of everything I’ve learned throughout my own healing journey and professional career. I combine neuroscience, somatic coaching, NLP, emotional intelligence, psychedelic-assisted transformation, sound healing, breathwork, parts work, embodiment practices, and nervous system regulation to help people create lasting change from the inside out.

What sets me apart is that I don’t believe healing should happen in isolation, and I don’t believe people need another strategy to “fix” themselves. Most people don’t need more information – they need a safe space to feel, process, reconnect, and remember who they were before life taught them to disconnect from themselves. I use a precision approach that allows us to uncover the exact subconscious and somatic patterns blocking clients from breakthroughs so that we can resolve the distortions from lineage wounds or childhood experiences in a way that’s efficient and creates lasting healing.

Whether I’m leading retreats, facilitating transformational experiences, working with private clients, teaching NLP Soundbaths, or guiding people through profound personal breakthroughs, my goal is always the same: to help people build a relationship with themselves rooted in safety, self-trust, self-love, and authenticity.

The thing I’m most proud of isn’t any certification, title, or accomplishment. It’s the community that has formed around this work. Time and time again, I watch people realize they aren’t broken, they aren’t alone, and they are far more powerful than they ever believed. I get to witness people reclaim their voices, heal relationships, step into purpose, and create lives they once thought were impossible.

My brand was built from lived experience. Everything I teach is something I’ve had to walk through myself. After more than three decades dedicated to my own healing and over fifteen years helping others transform their lives, I’ve learned that healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you’ve always been beneath the conditioning, the pain, and the survival strategies.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: no matter what you’ve been through, your past does not define your future. Healing is possible. Transformation is possible. And you were never meant to do it alone.

The world teaches us to be independent, to push through, to wear exhaustion like a badge of honor. My work exists to remind people that true strength is found in connection – to ourselves, to our bodies, to our communities, and to something greater than ourselves.

When those pieces come together, everything changes.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a lifelong student, and learning is one of the biggest ways I continue to grow both personally and professionally.

On average, I listen to or read about four books a month, primarily through Audible and Libro.fm. You’ll almost always find me listening to a book while I’m driving, walking, traveling, or between sessions. I believe that if we’re committed to helping others grow, we have a responsibility to continue growing ourselves.

Some of the teachers and thought leaders who have had a profound impact on my life and work are David Ghiyam, Joe Hudson, Matias De Stefano, and Teal Swan. While they each approach transformation from different perspectives, what I appreciate most is their willingness to explore the deeper layers of human behavior, consciousness, emotional healing, relationships, and personal responsibility. Their work has challenged me to think differently and continue expanding my understanding of what it means to live an authentic and purposeful life.

Beyond books, I spend a lot of time studying neuroscience, somatics, psychology, spirituality, leadership, emotional intelligence, and human performance. I’m endlessly fascinated by understanding why we do what we do and how we can create lasting transformation.

That said, some of the most valuable resources in my life aren’t found in books or apps. Nature, meaningful conversations, community, meditation, movement, and spending intentional time in reflection have been some of my greatest teachers. I believe wisdom comes from both learning and living. The most powerful growth happens when we take what we learn intellectually and integrate it into our daily lives.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that growth isn’t a destination – it’s a lifelong practice of staying curious, staying humble, and remaining open to new ways of seeing ourselves and the world around us.
