Today we’d like to introduce you to Amira Althany.
Hi Amira, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Like many entrepreneurs, my path wasn’t a straight line.
Before founding Copper Page Interiors, I spent over a decade in corporate sales and sales enablement, helping build training programs and develop teams for fast-growing technology companies. I loved the work, and it provided me with incredible opportunities. After years in the corporate world, I reached a point where I was able to step back, take some time to reflect, and ask myself what I truly wanted my next chapter to look like.
The answer had actually been with me for years.
For nearly a decade before launching my business, I was the unofficial designer for friends and family, helping them reimagine their homes, select furnishings, and create spaces that felt more like them. Design was always the thing people naturally came to me for, even though it wasn’t yet my profession.
The moment everything clicked came when I sold my own home. The buyers loved the design so much that they asked if I would help redesign it to reflect their family and style after they moved in. That experience gave me the confidence to pursue what had long been a passion, and soon after I enrolled at the Heritage School of Interior Design and founded Copper Page Interiors.
My perspective on design has also been shaped by my own story. I was born in Saudi Arabia, raised in southwestern Colorado, and today I’m married to my husband, who is Nigerian. Living between different cultures has shown me how deeply our homes are connected to our identities, traditions, and the people we love. It’s why I believe great design isn’t about following trends, it’s about creating spaces that tell your story.
Today, Copper Page Interiors creates homes that are timeless, layered, and deeply personal. Every project begins by understanding our clients’ lives, experiences, and aspirations, then thoughtfully weaving those elements together through artisan craftsmanship, natural materials, and intentional design.
One of the greatest joys of this journey has been becoming part of Denver’s incredible design community and collaborating with local makers, artisans, and fellow creatives who believe that beautiful spaces can strengthen connection and enrich everyday life.
For me, Copper Page Interiors has never simply been about designing beautiful homes. It’s about creating places where stories are honored, memories are made, and every return home feels like coming back to yourself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think one of the greatest surprises of entrepreneurship is realizing that the hardest work isn’t always building a business, it’s becoming the person capable of leading one.
One of my biggest lessons has been learning that boundaries aren’t barriers; they’re what make creativity sustainable. In the beginning, I wanted to say yes to everything and be available at all hours because I cared so deeply about my clients and wanted every project to be perfect. Over time, I realized that the most meaningful work grows from clarity, trust, and mutual respect. My role isn’t simply to execute ideas, it’s to guide, to listen, and to create with intention. When clients trust that process, the work becomes something far greater than either of us could have imagined alone.
I’ve also had to learn to honor the value of my own experience. Like many creatives, asking to be compensated for my expertise felt vulnerable at first. But I eventually understood that what clients are investing in isn’t just beautiful furnishings or thoughtfully selected finishes. They’re investing in years of observation, intuition, problem-solving, and the quiet confidence that comes from seeing possibilities where others see empty rooms.
Perhaps the most freeing lesson has been letting go of the belief that I have to do everything myself. I used to think asking for help somehow meant I wasn’t enough. Instead, I’ve discovered that some of the most beautiful work is born through collaboration. Denver’s design community has been incredibly generous—with mentors who have shared their wisdom, artisans who have taught me new ways of seeing, vendors who have become trusted partners, and talented collaborators who bring strengths that complement my own. I’ve learned that building something meaningful doesn’t require carrying it all alone.
And finally, I’ve learned to trust my own creative voice. It’s easy to look around and wonder if you should design like someone else or follow what’s trending. But the homes that stay with me, the ones that truly resonate, are the ones created with courage, curiosity, and heart. They’ve taught me that the most timeless spaces aren’t the ones chasing what’s next; they’re the ones that quietly reflect the people who call them home.
In many ways, this journey has been less about learning how to design and more about learning how to lead, with confidence, with humility, and with the belief that beautiful things are almost always created together.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Copper Page Interiors, we believe home is both a sanctuary and a living story. It’s where our histories, relationships, and dreams find a place to belong.
Our work is rooted in the belief that beautiful spaces should feel deeply personal, grounded in the lives, heritage, and experiences of the people who call them home. Rather than designing around trends or a signature aesthetic, we begin by listening. We learn about our clients’ traditions, travels, collections, personal artifacts, and the moments that matter most to them. Those stories become the foundation of every design decision.
I’m drawn to spaces that balance beauty with function, comfort with intrigue. A home should invite you to exhale the moment you walk through the door, while still surprising you with thoughtful details that spark curiosity and conversation. Whether it’s an heirloom passed down through generations, a piece collected while traveling, or artwork that reflects a family’s journey, I love weaving meaningful objects into a home so it feels layered, collected, and unmistakably theirs.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that our clients often tell me their homes finally feel like them. Not like a showroom, not like a page from a magazine, but like a true reflection of who they are. To me, that’s the greatest compliment a designer can receive.
What sets Copper Page Interiors apart is that we don’t simply curate beautiful rooms, we help people tell their story through the spaces they live in. We collaborate closely with artisans, makers, and skilled craftspeople to create homes that feel rooted rather than replicated, grounded rather than performative, and designed to evolve alongside the families who live within them.
At the end of every project, my hope is that we’ve created more than a beautiful home. I hope we’ve created a place where life unfolds with ease, where memories quietly gather over time, and where every room reflects the people, stories, and moments that matter most.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
If you looked at my résumé, it probably wouldn’t make much sense at first glance.
Along the way I’ve earned a master’s degree in Communication, become a certified mediator, a certified wedding planner, and pursued several other certifications, not because I needed them, but because I genuinely love learning. I’ve always been fascinated by people: how we communicate, how we connect, what shapes us, and what makes us feel at home.
That curiosity has also taken me around the world. I’ve solo traveled to ten countries, and one of those trips changed my life forever; I met my husband while traveling through Scotland. Travel taught me that every culture tells its story differently, yet we’re all searching for many of the same things: belonging, beauty, connection, and a place to feel grounded. Those experiences continue to shape the way I design and the way I connect with my clients.
Another role that has profoundly shaped me is becoming a mother. I have a three-year-old daughter who I am absolutely wild about. Motherhood has given me a much deeper appreciation for the way our homes support our everyday lives. It has taught me that great design isn’t just about beauty, it’s about creating spaces that are functional, safe, adaptable, and full of opportunities for play and connection. Watching the world through my daughter’s eyes has reminded me that the best homes are the ones that invite us to explore, gather, and simply be together.
And then there’s one fun fact that always catches people off guard, my favorite animals are fruit bats. I know they’re not everyone’s first choice, but I’ve always found them fascinating. They’re intelligent, social, surprisingly gentle, and a little misunderstood. I guess I’ve always had a soft spot for looking beyond first impressions.
Looking back, what once felt like a collection of unrelated experiences now feels like preparation for the work I do today. Every degree, every passport stamp, every conversation, and every season of life has deepened my understanding of people.
I’ve come to believe that understanding people is the greatest tool a designer can have. When you understand someone’s story, you don’t just create a beautiful home—you create a place where they feel seen.
