Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Waxler.
Hi Megan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was homeschooled since middle school and had no idea what I wanted to do. I told my mom “cutting hair sounds like fun.” I went to cosmetology school and graduated the following year and immediately jumped into my career! 4 years later I own my own business ano have an amazing career I love!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has never been a smooth road however that road has built me into the person l am today. People think being a hairstylist is easy money it is definitely not. Since I started as a booth rental stylist I had to build all of my clientele from the ground up. Building a full clientele takes a lot of hidden hard work!

I’m an independent hairstylist who specializes in low maintenance haircolor. I also do wedding hair and nail art. I’m most proud that I have made it this far and built my career as much as I have! I also had the privilege to style hair for a fashion show in Telluride.
What makes you happy?
It makes me happy to be hiking, being outdoors, spending time with my husband, getting to create art!
