Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Lybrook.
Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Managed Service Provider to small and large businesses that need an expert on-call to look after their legacy websites, servers, and infrastructure. I help entrepreneurs and companies who run their own servers, stay up to date with security patches and troubleshoot connectivity issues, as well as configure and deploy new systems.
After a decade of cutting my teeth in corporate IT jobs in Boulder, Colorado, I started my first website development company in 1996, and rebranded as WSW3 Networks (https://wsw3.com) in 2020, to better focus our service offerings on retainer and a la carte IT solutions, instead of custom web development work—which had been our main niche from 2000 until about 2020. Now we mostly maintain older websites, like the ones we built in the past.
We now offer 24/7/365 hardware and software support remotely, and at our leased, high-speed, fiber-enabled data center located in Boulder County. Our data centers are SSAE-18 certified, HIPAA compliant, and HITRUST certified. We also provide site monitoring, penetration testing, recommendations, and remediation.
We also provide a Free Website and Infrastructure Audit, which includes a 30 minute consultation about your business concerns:

In addition to keeping websites and servers online, I also run a traditional printmaking shop where I make intaglio and photogravure-quality prints for artists, photographers, and their collectors worldwide!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve faced a number of major challenges in my 25 years as a website development contractor and IT consultant to small entrepreneurs.
At one point several years ago, while migrating email servers to a virtual server hosted “in the cloud,” Google blacklisted the new email server’s IP. It turned out the IP assigned to us by the cloud provider had a bad reputation. By the time we got it straightened out, the damage had already been done. We’ve hosted email for customers with trusted third-party providers ever since.
While some things have grown more complex over the years, such as email administration, foundational concepts about the internet, like DNS, TCP/IP networking, building secure websites, and patching operating systems and third-party software, haven’t changed.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has actually made troubleshooting and configuring systems much easier. Instead of wading through a dozen crusty, semi-relevant search engine results to find a solution, AI simply delivers it, then suggests other tasks that might be helpful. AI may be able to tell a novice the steps to configure an Apache web server, but without hands-on experience managing all the moving parts, knowing how to diagnose and fix a problem efficiently when the AI falls short is what we human service providers have — and will almost always have — over AI. We have intuition built from experience; AI just has isolated context.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about WSW3 Networks?

Some of my favorite Colorado business partners include Massive Networks (https://www.massivenetworks.com) for Colocation, Free Range Geeks (https://freerangegeeks.com/) in Boulder for Windows Server Administration and Networking, and The FreeBSD Foundation (https://freebsd.org) for supporting their rock-solid server operating system.
Most of the individual subject matter experts I rely on most, I’ve worked with for decades. Our clients benefit from our combined years of experience. There are also a number of new and older online tools which help us identify and fix problems faster than ever!
I love collaborating with clients to find the best solutions to meet their needs and budget. The most valuable thing I bring is the experience of what to do, and the knowledge of who to work with when, to help ensure positive results! Call me to discuss you business needs today! – Jonathan Lybrook
