Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Faul.
Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Linda Sole Faul, Painter jeweler and instructor. Linda moved to Colorado from Long Island New York in 1973 to study fine art at the university of Boulder. She then became a professional full-time artist in 1998 since then she has become a staple in Boulder County Artist community she has participated in Open Studio since 1998 the Longmont studio tour from 1999 to 2021, plein air painting in the governor show in 2021 through 2022. She is a member of the Boulder art Association and the Longmont artist guild currently her paintings are on display at the Boulder, Open Studio, Gallery, Creative Framing Gallery, and The Glass Tipi Gallery. Linda has been represented by the great Frame up Gallery and Longmont Mary Williams Fine Arts Gallery in Boulder, the osmosis gallery in Niwot additionally she has her paintings exhibited at galleries throughout Colorado, New York, Ohio, Florida, and other private collections throughout the US. Lastly, she has been teaching studio painting and painting classes ,workshops for the past 14 years. Linda‘s inspiration for painting has become a passion a desire for self expression, Linda has personal paintings style which combines realism and a touch of fantasy. She incorporates Bright brilliant colors into her mixed media paintings. She enjoys painting Southwest landscapes beaches of Florida, California, and the mountains and planes of Colorado. Her signature buffalo paintings are sought after by collectors and nationwide. Linda is classically trained Artist who has evolved into contemporary fine art Painter she begins each painting with a plein air study, and then turns into a larger composition before she starts with gesso paint to prime her canvases, and then painting the under painting with acrylic next, she finishes fine details with oil paints.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Basically, it’s been a smooth road for me as an artist and an instructor for the past 30 years.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned through the journey I’ve chose as an artist as been that you keep persevering in life, whether or not you can accomplish a good painting or a bad painting you learned through your mistakes🎨
