Today we’d like to introduce you to Sindra Richards.
Hi Sindra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and raised in a close-knit community where I learned that no one exists or succeeds in isolation. That early understanding still influences how I see people, their environments, and the systems that shape how they live and work.
My professional path has included business administration, accounting, human development, and a master’s degree in occupational therapy. Each field gave me a different perspective. Business taught me about operations and performance, while occupational therapy taught me to examine the relationship between a person, the demands they face, and the environment in which they are expected to function.
Over the years, I noticed a recurring pattern. Intelligent, capable, and committed people were becoming exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure of themselves. Many were working harder to compensate for expectations that did not account for their energy, cognitive load, executive functioning, or how their brains worked.
I began coaching in 2019, initially supporting professional parents of neurodivergent children. Through that work, I saw how often conversations about neurodivergence focused on children, while many adults were also recognizing their own patterns of masking, overwhelm, executive-function challenges, and burnout. My own lived experience also helped me understand what it means to be capable and responsible while carrying demands that others may not see.
These experiences led me to create NeuroForte Strategies. Today, I work as a Capacity and Performance Strategist, coach, consultant, and speaker. My occupational therapy background informs my perspective, but NeuroForte is a coaching and consulting business, not a therapy practice.
Through coaching, organizational consulting, workshops, speaking engagements, and strategic partnerships, I help professionals, leaders, and organizations understand and address the conditions interfering with sustainable performance, particularly when burnout, cognitive overload, neurodivergence, or chronic overextension are involved.
NeuroForte is based in Colorado, where I remain actively involved in the local business and neurodiversity communities, including serving as an ambassador with the Colorado Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce. I am committed to expanding the conversation about what inclusive and sustainable performance can look like in our workplaces and communities.
At the center of my work is a belief that has become clearer throughout my journey: before we ask people to produce more, we need to understand whether they have the capacity and support to meet what is being asked of them. This does not mean lowering expectations. It means creating conditions where people can use their strengths, do meaningful work, and perform well without continually sacrificing their well-being.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I began coaching in 2019 while carrying other responsibilities. I knew the work was meaningful, but I was still developing the language and structure needed to bring together my background in business, occupational therapy, human development, coaching, and lived experience. I also had to determine how to make that work useful to others and sustainable as a business.
What began primarily through individual coaching expanded as I recognized that many of the challenges people experienced could not be addressed at the individual level alone. Workplaces, leadership practices, and organizational expectations were also part of the picture.
One of my greatest challenges has been bringing attention to capacity as a workplace and performance issue before burnout reaches a crisis point. Performance struggles are often attributed to a lack of motivation, discipline, or effective time management without examining the demands placed on the person or the conditions surrounding their work. My conversations with professionals, leaders, families, and community organizations have confirmed that these capacity challenges are not isolated.
Entrepreneurship has also required me to confront the same pressures I address in my work. Building a business can come with expectations of constant visibility, productivity, and availability. I have had to learn that I cannot build a company focused on sustainable performance by continually overriding my own capacity. I do not always get that balance right, but I am more willing to pause, reassess, and make decisions that support the work for the long term.
This journey has given me greater clarity about whom I serve, what NeuroForte represents, and how I want it to grow. The road is still unfolding, but each challenge has made me more committed to building NeuroForte in a way that is consistent with what I teach.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
NeuroForte Strategies is a Colorado-based coaching and consulting company that helps professionals, leaders, and organizations build sustainable performance by better aligning human capacity with the demands and environments shaping how work gets done.
I specialize in capacity, burnout prevention, cognitive load, executive functioning, and neurodiversity-informed workplace strategy. I support capable people experiencing overwhelm, masking, inconsistent performance, or chronic overextension. I also work with leaders who know they have capable people, but recognize that something in the way the work is structured is no longer working well.
I deliver this work through coaching, organizational consulting and advising, workshops, team education, and speaking engagements. The goal is to help individuals better understand their energy and capacity, improve clarity and follow-through, and develop more sustainable ways of working. I help organizations create working conditions that support effectiveness, employee well-being, retention, and sustainable performance.
I have brought these conversations into coaching relationships, business communities, leadership programs, and neurodiversity-focused events. These experiences have shown me that capacity challenges do not remain confined to one part of a person’s life. They can affect work, relationships, routines, and well-being.
What sets NeuroForte apart is that I do not begin by asking how someone can become more productive. I begin by examining the capacity available, the demands involved, and the conditions influencing performance. My Capacity-First Performance Method™ moves through Capacity, Patterns, Sequencing, and Sustainable Performance. This perspective helps us look beyond the visible performance challenge to understand what within the work or environment may also need to change.
My approach draws from my background in business, occupational therapy, human development, and coaching, along with my lived experience. My occupational therapy background informs how I understand the relationship between people, their responsibilities, and their environments, but NeuroForte is not a therapy practice. It is a coaching and consulting company that works with both individuals and the systems surrounding them.
I am especially proud that NeuroForte gives people a different way to understand struggles they may have carried as personal failures. The brand holds performance, accountability, and well-being in the same conversation. Sustainable performance does not come from continually asking people to work harder. It comes from understanding human capacity and creating better ways for people and organizations to work.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about Denver is that it has the vibrancy of a larger city while still maintaining the feeling of a smaller community. There is so much happening in business, culture, and community life, yet it is still common to discover that people know one another through only a few connections. That six-degrees-of-separation quality makes the city feel personal.
Through my involvement in local business and neurodiversity communities, I have experienced how connected Denver really is. One conversation or introduction often leads to another relationship or collaboration. I appreciate how willing people are to share ideas, make connections, and explore ways to work together.
I also appreciate how Denver continues to evolve and better showcase the different people and cultures that live, work, thrive, and build community here. There is a strong entrepreneurial spirit, shaped by a long history of people creating ventures, pursuing opportunities, and building new possibilities.
I am equally inspired by the passion people bring to addressing the city’s needs. I have seen grassroots organizations, nonprofits, and community partnerships step forward to support people and strengthen their neighborhoods.
Then there is the natural beauty surrounding us. I love the sunshine, the distinct seasons, the snow, and the mountains. I also value the work being done to preserve Colorado’s natural spaces and keep them accessible for people to experience and enjoy.
What I like least is the traffic. It is one of those daily reminders that the city with the small-town feeling so many of us love is continuing to grow, with all the joys and challenges that growing brings.
