Rising Stars: Meet Greta of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greta.

Hi Greta, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got my real estate license in 2013. I was a server through most of my twenties and wanted something more fulfilling. Before I landed in Colorado in 2009, I was living in NYC with aspiring dreams of being on Broadway and graduated from Denison University in Ohio before that. My parents are originally from Ohio, but I was raised in the San Fernando Valley in LA. I was drawn to Colorado because of the sunshine, seasons, and friendly community.

The first couple of years that I was in real estate, I hustled as a prominent agent’s assistant and was on the fast track to learning a wealth of knowledge. Although the first year had many challenges, I stuck with it and quickly grew my business. I’ve been ranked in the top 1% of agents in Colorado, and have closed more than $180M in career gross sales.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s never a completely smooth road! From learning how to run your own business to feeling completely overwhelmed with the amount of knowledge to gain, it’s been a long road. When I first started, I would go to my real estate office in the morning and then head straight to Avery Brewing company where I served tables for the night shift. I barely saw my then boyfriend (now husband) and was barely able to pay the rent. I finally was able to secure a job as another agent’s assistant and quit my second job so that I could really focus on real estate. That’s when things started to turn around. I was exposed to property management, and high end real estate transactions…the whole gamete and started learning a ton!

Through my career I have learned some very humbling lessons and tried to make the best of them. I’ve lost clients because of silly mis-steps, but have tried to use those moments as a learning experience for what I can do better. This business is constantly evolving and I’m trying to stay ahead of it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love being in real estate and helping people buy and sell real estate. I specialize in first time homebuyers, investors, luxury real estate and larger new construction developments (Boulder). I live in Golden and work in the Denver metro, Golden and Boulder areas. I am also a mom of 2 (son Rush 7, daughter Bo 3) and a wife to my amazing stay at home husband, Maximo. I would say most of my clients and friends appreciate my positive attitude and how I show up for them. I am intuitive with people’s needs and I integrate that into my work life. After talking with a client, I’m able to quickly and clearly identify what people want even if they don’t know what it is yet. I also just like to have fun!

What are your plans for the future?
I love travel and I have big dreams for a remodel/addition of our current home. I like to plan 1-2 family trips per year and I love going somewhere with a beach. I also try to do one girl’s trip with an amazing group of moms who live in my neighborhood. We also are looking at getting a drop in camper for our truck so that we can go camping, off roading, and road tripping. I also love architecture and design, and have dreams of expanding our footprint of our current home. Right now, I’m working with a business coach to help exponentially grow my business so that I can keep planning adventures.
