Today we’d like to introduce you to Otisa Eads.
Hi Otisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey to organizational clarity started in the most unlikely place: a chaotic catering kitchen in Denver.
After graduating from Murray State University with degrees in Organizational Communication and Spanish, I wasn’t sure exactly where life would take me. In 2016, I took a job at a small catering company, originally doing HR work but quickly finding myself helping wherever the biggest fires were.
The owner was brilliant, passionate, and deeply committed to her people, but she was overwhelmed. Employees were leaving, communication was breaking down, and the organization was constantly operating in crisis mode.
As I worked alongside her, I began noticing patterns that others weren’t seeing—four specific areas where a lack of clarity was creating problems throughout the organization. We addressed those areas systematically, and within three months, things began to change. Employees stopped leaving, communication improved, and the owner began talking about growth instead of survival.
That experience made me realize I had a gift for seeing the invisible misalignments that create organizational chaos—and, more importantly, helping leaders do something about them.
What started as a side hustle eventually became my life’s work. Since 2016, I’ve worked with more than 200 organizations, primarily nonprofits, social enterprises, and mission-driven businesses. Along the way, I developed The Aligned Method™, which brings together the patterns and strategies I’ve seen repeatedly transform organizations.
Today, my work is centered on helping mission-driven leaders create the clarity, structure, and alignment they need to move from chaos back into meaningful, sustainable momentum.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road.
One of my biggest lessons came after I started gaining momentum in my consulting work. I got excited about helping more people and eventually took on 12 clients at once. I quickly realized that trying to serve everyone meant I wasn’t able to give anyone the depth of attention and transformation they deserved.
I was becoming everything I didn’t want consulting to be—rushed, generic, and overly reliant on templates.
That experience forced me to take a step back and redefine how I wanted to work. I ultimately chose quality over quantity and intentionally limited my practice to a small number of organizations each quarter.
It cost me financially in the short term, but it allowed me to build a practice that actually reflects my values: deep transformation, genuine partnership, and strategic attention.
As you know, we’re big fans of Otisa Eads LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m a Strategist, Coach, and an Organizational Development Consultant and the founder of Otisa Eads LLC. I help mission-driven leaders and organizations move from organizational chaos to clarity, alignment, and sustainable momentum.
My work focuses on looking beneath the obvious problems to identify the internal misalignments that are making everything else harder. From there, I help leaders streamline, redefine, and restructure how their organizations operate so their values actually show up in the way the organization functions—not just in its mission statement.
I developed The Aligned Method™ from the patterns I’ve observed across more than 200 organizations. My approach is strategic, practical, and deeply collaborative. I believe organizational development can be both effective and human—and yes, even fun!
How do you think about happiness?
.I’m happiest when I’m creating, connecting, and exploring.
I love being in the messy middle of a problem and finding the structure or clarity that helps everything finally click. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching a leader go from overwhelmed to confident and seeing a team rediscover the joy in the work they’re doing.
Outside of work, I love exploring Denver’s music scene, practicing my DJing, traveling, experiencing new cultures, and finding inspiration in the way different communities live and connect.
At the end of the day, I’m happiest when I’m learning something new, helping someone else grow, or simply enjoying the people and experiences around me.
