Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Galeano.
Hi Tara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Tara Galeano, a certified sex therapist and sexless marriage expert, and author of Rediscovering My Body. My work began in my own marriage, not in a therapy office.
I’m a feeling person, what many would call an empath. I knew what was happening in my body, and I doubted it. I told myself I was wrong, or that something was wrong with me. I now see that doubt in most women I work with: we absorb what isn’t working around us and decide the defect is ours.
Twenty-five years ago, I was teaching others how to create intimacy before I fully understood what I was offering. Now I know that real intimacy begins with oneself. That hard-earned understanding became Rediscovering My Body (in print since 2020), my private practice, my retreats, and a growing speaking presence at women’s leadership conferences and corporate wellness summits.
I built the support I needed and couldn’t find, because I had been looking outside myself. A woman’s wisdom is never the problem. It is the ground she comes back to.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, and I wouldn’t change it.
The first struggle was learning to trust what I knew. Feeling something true and talking myself out of it took years to unlearn. It was slow, unglamorous work.
The second was claiming my calling. I carried a title before I had fully grown into it, and I had to live what I taught before I could offer it cleanly.
The third is the work itself. Intimacy is slow, embodied, and personal, in a culture that wants speed and checklists. I’ve refused to dilute it.
The obstacles didn’t delay the work. They are the work. Every doubt I moved through became something I could help another woman move through.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I work with high-achieving professionals in sexless marriages, many of them executives, attorneys, physicians, and HR leaders, and with the partners who love them.
Here is what I know: couples think they want more sex. What they’re starving for is intimacy. I don’t teach more sex. I teach more connection.
What sets my work apart is the body. Intimacy doesn’t live in a conversation. It lives in a body that has learned to trust itself again, so my work is somatic and deeply human.
Many of my clients have been called “cold” or “broken.” That is not the whole truth, and it was never the truth about them. They are ready to stop going without and come back, fully, to themselves.
I’m proudest that my practice and retreats are in high demand, and that a woman’s wisdom is held there as sacred.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
• Work with me: I welcome a limited number of private clients. Rediscovering My Body is the widest door in, and it’s where most women begin.
• Collaborate with me: I welcome invitations to speak at women’s leadership conferences, corporate wellness and sexual health summits, and private events.
• Support the work: Read the book. Come to a workshop. Tell someone you know that they’re not broken and they’re not alone. That’s how this work has grown.
If you’ve been quietly going without, you’re welcome here. The book is the first step, and when you’re ready for more, my door is open. Schedule some time here: https://taragaleano.com/
