Life & Work with Anushka Gupta of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anushka Gupta.

Hi Anushka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
TNH was a 3 a.m. idea that I set up on an impulse with absolutely no guidelines or plans whatsoever. I love stargazing and celestial objects, hence the name. At first we functioned through our Editor-in- Chief, who was also my co- founder. I’d been dabbling in the writing circles of so many wonderful magazines and I wanted an area of my own. However, I wasn’t very proficient, especially when it came to designing and social media management- time was also a huge factor since I’m still in school. However, with the help of my partner I was able to form the base and learn quite a lot. My partner quit due to recent pressure on her health and academic stress and to this date, I don’t think anybody knows that I’m the founder- I’ve never introduced myself publicly for I think I’ve been afraid of being embarassed in case it doesn’t work out. But I’m ready to work one- on- one with my team, though quite small in number, but still so patient. We hope to pick up our work from March 2027.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest struggle wasn’t actually forming the platform but rather getting it to work. Followers were abundant but our team is severely understaffed. Exposure is the goal but it was difficult actually getting people to join and participate.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m very proud of our designs, especially the ones my co-founder used to create. It brought about a raw representation of emotions and girlhood rather than a formal post like a channel. We interview other zines, we produce independent posts from individuals and we work on issues that publish young authors and artists free of cost to help them start their creative journey

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I think keeping a creative angle to daily life is very important. No matter how busy you are, there should be a place called home for you which need not have a physical manifestation but rather it should exist through art, dance and culture. You should be able to expand your capabilities or skills and use it as a medium to have something extra and unique about yourself.
