Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Lopez and Mallory Kincaid.
Mallory and Cassie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi! We’re Mallory and Cassie, the planners behind Wild Social Micro Weddings. Our story started at the school where we both currently teach at. Mallory is the art teacher and Cassie teaches Spanish. One day, we both happened to be in the copy room at the same time and struck up a conversation.
Cassie was sharing her mobile bartending company, The Wandering Wagon, and we started discussing weddings and how stressful and expensive they can be. Mallory had recently planned her own wedding and was venting about the high costs and how It had delayed her and her husband from purchasing their first home. We both agreed that there was a need for something different! We wanted to create something that offered more than an elopement but less extensive than a traditional wedding.
This is where Wild Social Micro Weddings was born! We offer all-inclusive, stress-free packages for up to 50 guests. We take care of all the details, like floral, decor, desserts, and bartending. We do the setup, teardown, timeline, and coordination. Our couples get the excitement of showing up on their wedding day to a fully styled space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve had peaks and valleys which have helped us learn so much about ourselves and our small business. With each snag or setback, it has only brought us closer and changed our business model in the best way. It sounds so cheesy but it’s true.
We always keep each other laughing. It could be the hardest day and we will still be making each other laugh. I think our partnership is so unique and one of the main reasons why we keep pushing forward. That, and our love for small weddings.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our wedding planning business is unique because it is a one-stop shop. Wild Social is not for every couple! If you love being a part of every small detail, we aren’t the girls for you. Our couples are people who aren’t interested in the stress associated with wedding planning. They don’t want to think about the linens or the welcome table.
They just want to throw a badass party for their closest family and friends or, they are saving their money to buy their first home or maybe they want to take an unforgettable honeymoon. Whatever their reasons, our couples trust us to take care of the majority of the planning.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Our goal is to have a venue here in Colorado. We are excited to have a space of our own to celebrate our couple’s intimate wedding days. We not only want a space of our own for micro weddings but want a space of our own to give back to kids.
One day we will leave teaching but want to always give back to young people of color and LGBTQ+ youth. We plan to hold classes, create experiences that many kids do not have access to, and host non-profits that we align with.
