Today we’d like to introduce you to Jensen Sutta.
Hi Jensen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My start was not a traditional path. Second-semester senior year of college, I was in a rollover car accident on a school field trip. It took a year to recover from the injuries, and I realized how quickly life can change. I started all over studying photography going three more years for a master’s degree. As a side job, I was a Bellman at a nice hotel and those connections helped tremendously earning business and launching my start in the career of photography.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Running your own business comes with many challenges. The biggest of which is that no matter how fancy or amazing the last job is you always need to hustle because there’s no guarantee the phone will keep ringing. It’s been 22 years now and I feel very lucky for all of the successes…
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m. most known for photographing very high-end events like Elton John’s Oscar party, the Democratic and Republican, national conventions, the Kentucky Derby, and working with high-profile, individuals like actors, musicians, and athletes. I’m happy to be trusted with important events and people. However, the work I’m most proud of is providing images that make a difference or help others. A persona and career highlight is knowing that through my images, funds were given to provide food to a village in Haiti for 3 years.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’ve been lucky enough to have had jobs in over 30 countries over the course of my career. I love to travel and meet new people and cultures!
