Introducing Munchies & Mimosas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Douglas, Collin Draine, Nahjee Maybin, Justin Murchison, Gabriel White, Kaelon Scott and Darryl Bufford II.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started in April of 2018. We, as a collective had about 20+ friends fly in town for the Rockies Opening Day celebrations. Instead of finding a restaurant who could accommodate our guests, we decided to host our own brunch. The event was meant to be a one-off event, however, the success of the event and the demand for another brought us back to the drawing board. We’ve grown our following each event and the demand is still there. We were once able to fit our brunch in a 100 person venue, we’ve now grown to a need of venues able to accommodate up to 500 people.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Though the road has just begun; some struggles we have had to overcome have been centered around our brand positioning. We haven’t had much collaboration and support from localized media outlets and It has been a goal of ours to place Munchies & Mimosas at the forefront of attractions for the city and brunch culture at large. We want the world to know that Denver truly has something original with Munchies that all brunch and day party enthusiasts nationwide should experience.

Munchies & Mimosas – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Stepping back; GNC is the production company family that gave birth to the Munchies and Mimosas concept. A group whose aim is to generate a diverse and inclusive environment for the Culture to thrive. Our wheelhouse is event production and promotion, creating sensational vibes, and providing opportunities for people to meet, mingle and make connections.

Munchies and Mimosas is our signature event. Coming into our third year, we have been acknowledged as an advocate for the city to experience a wave of good food, good music, and great memories. Denver has come to recognize and appreciate the effort it took to create the Munchies and Mimosas experience.

We are most proud of the growth and the process without a doubt. There was always a mission and a vision, but to be to the point we are at today, from where we started – it is humbling. The city has shown a lot of love and support, and we could not be more thankful for it. We want to keep giving our audience something to support and boast about. Denver needed this outlet and they allowed us to provide it.

What sets you apart from others?
The diversity. Popping up in locations, providing diverse menus, being surrounded by diverse people. We’re made up of transplants, so we were on the outside looking in and it gave us a unique perspective. Denver was missing the vibes you can typically only find in cities like Houston, Atlanta, and DC; we were able to identify that need and curate something unique.

People from across the nation have traveled just to take part in what we’ve been building. We have even gotten to the point that cities are reaching out how they can bring Munchies and Mimosas to them, it’s special.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for us as a team is still in its most simple form. “The moment when preparation and opportunity meet”. As this platform continues to roll out; we look forward to stepping up to the plate. and as long as we continue to receive positive feedback, we have all intent to remain steadfast.
