Today we’d like to introduce you to Natha Perkins Campanella.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Do you ever have those moments in life where you just know there must be something else? You’ve hit the wall, you’re bored, you dread going to your job, your relationships feel flat, you realize that you have a schedule full of things that make you tired and you have no time for self-reflection? I was in that place when I found astrology for the first time. I was running a jewelry design company, wearing all the hats. I was designing, creating, packaging, printing labels, selling, etc. and I just felt so heavy, every step I took felt exhausting. I said yes to everything, I was under-slept, and my nervous system was always activated. I was a young mom, a wife, a business owner, a daughter, and I had a social life. I truly thought I was supposed to do it all and was trying my hardest to live up to that idea. I was totally fried.
When I had my first astrology reading, I felt validated because she explained why my natural tendency was to put my needs on the back burner (it’s a Virgo thing). I was so intrigued by this system and how it worked because suddenly, I had explanations for my stress as well as guidance for getting a handle on it. I was hooked- here was this tool that gave insight into so many facets of my life- how could I not learn more?!
It took me many years of study as well as an apprenticeship with a master astrologer to get to where I am now. I would say that most of my clients come to me unfulfilled, knowing there must be something more. And it’s rewarding to be able to give them guidance and answers. What I love about astrology is that the answers don’t come from my mind, they come from the placement of the planets in each person’s unique natal chart. This means the guidance is personalized, unique, and surprisingly accurate.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any entrepreneur can tell you building a business isn’t easy. You must be good at your craft, but ideally, you have to be even better at business. There are so many skills to master! I’m lucky because the business building has always felt like a fun puzzle to solve, even with all the hits and misses. In astrology, “trial and error” is a Saturn thing. Everyone has Saturn work to do- it’s that two steps forward- one step back kind of energy but mistakes are valuable.
I look at my astrology business as something that helps other people define their purpose and identify their burdens and gifts, and it teaches me every day too. Entrepreneurship deepens the art of communication, relationship, and integrity.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Astrologer, an astrology teacher, and a guide. I sit with clients in private readings, I teach astrology to groups of students, and I help others use the teachings of the zodiac to deepen their self-understanding and improve their relationships, find their purpose, and make sense of their history.
People think astrology means horoscopes but it’s a wisdom tool that can be used for accurately comprehending the human experience. We all navigate through a predictable set of crises and are gifted with predictable potentials. How you choose to personally respond to each challenge and use your gifts is unique, and astrology can make sense of why a crisis arises in your life and how to solve it or learn from it using your natural gifts. Earth is a school and you have so much to learn- much of it involves developing self-awareness and the ability to introspect. Astrology can help you do both, and I act as your guide to facilitate and understand what’s happening and why.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I find that one of the most important things I can do with a client is to sit with them and be a listener. There’s something very precious about holding space for somebody as they tell bits and pieces of their story. We’ve grown accustomed to certain conversational standards like waiting to talk instead of really listening because we want to relate to a person by sharing a similar experience of our own, but those habits don’t make the person we’re speaking with feel particularly attuned to.
Simply being present with the person in front of me allows them to say what flows through their mind and it helps me better translate their astrology chart too. The natal chart is the map of where the planets were at the time of birth and is the key to understanding your human desires, gifts, burdens, relationships, evolutionary path and more. This rich wisdom is right here for you to discover (if you want), and I love being able to share this map with my clients so that they can find more freedom and fulfillment in their lives.
