Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Gant.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jared. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been expressive through various mediums of art. I feel as though it’s a key part of who I am. As a kid, I always had a camera and in 2004 I purchased my first digital camera. Shortly after that, I started channeling my expression and love for people into photography.
Photography has always been about people and celebrating who they are. In 2011, I photographed my very first wedding and immediately fell in love with the process. It took several years for me to hone in our brand style. I find it enthralling to focus, to create, to angle, and to compose creatively. Our photography style is founded in photojournalism with a deep, creative flair. The end result is real, one-of-kind wedding artistry.
As I am sure you can imagine, with a photography business (or any business), only a small portion is the artistry and camera in hand. The other 90% is running an actual successful business. During the first few years, I did every aspect and pushed myself to become proficient. I can now build a simple website, files business tax, create automation and systems, and the like. I have found that creating those systems is every bit as fun.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, every day even now I run into obstacles and challenges. It’s part of growing. If one is not finding new challenges to improve on, I dare say they’re simply ignoring them. Honestly, the more I learn, the more I realize I need to continue to learn and implement.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I was very independent and eager to grow up. I got my first job as a 10-year-old working at a pet shop. I negotiated my time for free pet supplies and spend the majority of the summer working there. Later as 12-year old, I got newspaper route delivering 158 paper. At this time in my life, I moved in with my grandfather, which became incredibly instrumental in who I am now. During my time with my grandfather, I started a landscape business, and started investing my income, and learned to love the process of working. Later as a 14-year old, I spent my summer painting miles of red and green curbing and as I was old enough to work an official job at age 15, I never stopped. As a junior in high school, I had a falling out with my mother and ended up getting emancipated and living on my own. That kind of jump-started my adult life.
Outside of work, my interests were mostly music related. I co-organized several bands and performed as often as possible.
