Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalyn Webb.
Hi Jalyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Jalyn Courtenay Webb. I am currently the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Candlelight. I have been a part of two Unique Industries for the majority of my adult life- performing and retail sales and marketing.
As a performer, I have performed all over the world, including as the National Anthem Singer for the Colorado Avalanche for 2 years in the late 90s, on a USO tour including Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Guam, and Hawaii, and as an actor, director and music director in over 100 shows.
In Retail and Marketing, I have worked for major corporate companies like The Limited, Brighton Collectibles, and Vera Bradley as well as smaller Boutiques across the country. Working for Candlelight has been wonderful because I can combine my love of both performance and sales under one roof.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been struggles along the way, most particularly in the theatre industry in the last couple of years with Covid closures. This industry has taken a beating, but we continue to create amazing art and give our audiences an incredible experience- and we are busier than we have ever been! it is wonderful to see how much things have grown. I have had some incredible mentors and friends along the way who have helped me immeasurably.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Candlelight. I am known for being connected to our patrons, and for creating an upbeat work environment. I am most proud of the retention in my team, In all my past positions as well. I love when people want to stay and work for you!
I think I have a determination and a vision. I care about the big things and the small things. I think I have a well-rounded resume, and I care about all aspects of the business. I love that I get to work with production, and the food and beverage side of the business, as well as box office and group sales.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think determination, kindness, and creativity.
