Meet Zach Seibel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Seibel.

Hi Zach, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The idea for Seibel Construction started in 2016. I had my real estate license; my brother Cole was a general contractor for another construction company and my dad Jim was getting ready to exit his custom home building company. After a few discussions, we realized that we had all the parts to team together and start our own company – so that’s what we did.

Seibel Construction officially started in 2017. We started with smaller remodel projects and some commercial tenant finish work. Fast forward 5 years later and we primarily build ground-up residential units, multi-family projects and still do commercial work. We’ve recently expanded our work to include self-development projects and short-term rentals.

We grew along the way as well. What started as the 3 of us has now grown to 15. Our team is made up of talented project managers, super intendants, and other office personal including my sister Alexa who serves as our in-house interior designers, truly making Seibel Construction a family business!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting any type of business comes with its challenges but construction is its own animal. Regarding the work itself, we quickly learned that each project is different and comes with its own set of problems that need to be solved. Like I briefly mentioned before, our first couple of years were spent doing smaller remodel jobs that we occasionally needed to step in and physically perform the work ourselves. A large portion of our work in our first few years was commercial tenant finish projects. When Covid hit we had to pivot that strategy. There was no need for office spaces and gyms to be remodeled. We quickly adapted and started to pursue larger residential projects instead.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Seibel Construction specializes in ground-up residential and commercial projects in the greater Denver area. We recently started a small branch within Seibel Construction called SDI – Seibel Development and Investments. Within SDI we are starting to perform more self-development work as oppose to building for others. We’re also in the process of meeting with investors and other like-minded individuals in our business to raise funds for some upcoming projects.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
There’s a lot of things that come to mind. I’ll keep it short – good company (spending time with friends and family), something purposeful to do, and something to look forward to.
