Rising Stars: Meet Condemned To Burn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Condemned To Burn.

In 2016 founding guitarist Richard Alvarado moved to Denver from California to join long-time friend, collaborator and founding member Robert Perez. The two started playing together again and created Rey’s Dismemberment after going through different line up’s they finally found a solid bass player by the name of Kyle Morgan who fitted the band perfectly with the sound they were trying to create. After some tensions in the band, Robert Perez was let go and the future of the band was unknown, after a break, Richard and Kyle decided to continue on. They decided they needed a name change to start a new chapter as a band but still keep “Reys Dismemberment” core values, Kyle came up with the name “Condemned to Burn” one night and we loved it. Again they went through different line up’s and were still looking for that sound they wanted. One day a man named Kurt “Venom” Mitchell came to try out on vocals and blew Richard and Kyle away.

Now with three solid member, they still needed a committed drummer, after reaching out and talking, founding member Robert Perez returned to the band and around that time CtB was looking to add a 2nd guitarist again, Kyle just so happened to attend a local metal show where he re-connected with old-time high school friend Alex Trujillo. Alex came out for a tryout and jelled with the band immediately. So now with a fully committed line up CtB hit the scene hard playing shows all around Denver making a small name for themselves, after joining Ground Zero Promotions LLC they continued to play shows and gain fans with there unique mixed sound of Thrash/Death Metal. Unfortunately, Robert again departed from the band to pursue a better living in another state. Now with CtB on the rise and shows booked for the next 4 months and again without a drummer, things weren’t looking good. Kyle reached out to a Thrash/Death Metal drummer who was known in the scene and was recommended to us by someone. After a meeting at Trailside Saloon for a local metal show, Dillon Hart joined CtB and was a perfect fit. Now with a full line up CtB is again taking Denver by storm with shows and festivals booked. They are surely a must-see band.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
1. The Departure of founding member Robert Perez.

2. The loss of our practice studio due to misuse by a band member.

3. The night three band members quit.

4. Our vocalist needing surgery.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a Thrash/Death Metal band out of Denver with a unique sound. We have an old-school Thrash Metal vibe with a mix of new school Death Metal. We are very energetic on stage and people love it when we bring out the CtB Bong. We are very interactive with our fans and love to hang out with them. We always support are Brotherens in the scene and are always at local shows showing it. We are very driven and take our craft seriously but always make sure to have fun while doing it!
