Hi Aubrey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In Ouray, CO, where I literally walk out my front door into the kind of landscapes that belong in epic fantasy movies, it’s not all that surprising that a girl who once pestered her mom for more Polaroid film would eventually become a professional photographer. But when I realized I could blend my passion for photography with my lifelong love of adventure, my life changed forever.
Today, I create once-in-a-lifetime photography experiences for couples, families, and individuals who don’t mind a little mud on their shoes if it means they had the time of their lives. With a spontaneous and sincere style, I fill galleries with dynamic images that feature both awe-striking landscapes and heartwarming emotion. And I have a blast doing it!
When I’m not exploring with couples or editing away on my latest gallery, I’m probably hiking with close friends, loading up the Jeep for a two-week camping trip with my husband and two kiddos, or just cozying in for a movie night. So, if you’re planning to say “I do” between an extreme camping trip and a The Lord of the Rings rewatch, we are sure to be instant best friends!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any business has a lot of trial and error with ups and downs. I like to take those low moments to reflect on how I could improve. For example, in my very small, rural mountain town, mini-sessions were a huge failure for me. I have learned to narrow down my niche and focus on what makes me happy and creative. I focus on couples, whether that is an elopement day at 11,000 ft.+ or an adventure wedding day in Telluride. I love to share real love stories of my couples in the most beautiful landscapes.
I learned what I love to photograph by shooting a wide array of projects, and finding my true passion. Serving couples and documenting their special days is what I’m all about!
We’ve been impressed with Aubrey Beth Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an adventure elopement and wedding photographer in Ouray, Colorado. I love telling my couple’s love stories through photos. I have a photojournalistic approach and I live for candid moments. I want your photos to feel like you! I am known for my sense of adventure and Jeep expertise. I love getting to adventure in the mountains daily!
I strive for zero-stress elopements and FUN. After all, isn’t your wedding day supposed to be about the two of you having fun together?! I think so! My main goal is for you to get married surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery and to have a blast doing it!
Because I have an eye on the details, you can truly have the photography experience of your dreams without all the pressure. As an expert in the Ouray, CO, area (since I LIVE HERE), I can safely get us to unbelievable locations that are lesser known to visitors. I’ve invested in relationships with many local vendors, so I can even give you a hand when it comes to bringing your wedding or elopement vision to life. And don’t worry about blizzards or storms! I’ll be keeping an eye on the weather and creating backup plans on backup plans just in case. In short, I’ll make sure the only thing dramatic about your wedding photography is the landscape!
