Hidden Gems: Meet India K. Easley of The Write Easley

Today we’d like to introduce you to India K. Easley.

Hi India, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The Write Easley, LLC was created to originally assist youth with tutoring. I started with tutoring grade school students who struggled in all subjects. We would meet at the city library in Greenwood after school and would have sessions between 30 mins to one hour depending on the age. Over the years, more and more services and products were added; with me assisting college students with everything known to man.

Being that I had already graduated with three degrees at that time – there was no subject I hadn’t taken and/or passed so it was easy to tutor college students. Eventually, I wanted to do even more and add even more services and that’s how we are who we are today. After my father passed away on 11/27/20 – I strived to create this company that would grow into something even bigger than just tutoring and writing.

His surname is listed in the business name so this is not only his legacy that I am growing – it is also mine being that I have his surname. Being during a time when Covid-19 created a large pathway for entrepreneurship; I took a huge opening to create a gateway for all entrepreneurs. I do everything in my power to show our clients how much we take pride in ensuring they are well taken care of. I know this is what my dad would do.

I know this is the person he trained me to be. I treat them the way any business owner would want to be treated. They are sometimes just starting out so we hold their hands to ensure they are on the right path. My father’s wisdom is now the wisdom I possess within this company. I share the same wisdom with our clients as well. This is how I continue to make it happen each and every day I wake up and assist our clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. I do not think any entrepreneur would say this is a smooth road to travel. When I tell you I have faced so many obstacles; I’ve literally been through everything in the book. The death of my father has definitely been the largest obstacle I have ever faced along this journey. His death changed me in more ways than one and it increased my drive.

I’m so passionate about my work and knowing that he taught me so much; I use that knowledge and wisdom to further my work. It hasn’t been easy by far; I’ve lost a lot but gained even more over time. I guess you can say the obstacles and awards sort of balance each other out. On top of losing my dad; I’ve lost friends, and family members pulled away from me, I’ve had to work harder to prove myself as an African American woman, and I’ve had to do it all while being a mother and a wife. It’s harder than it looks sometimes.

Balancing your personal life and business life because my work never ends. More than I’d like to admit; my body tells me to slow down and take a break. Obstacles teach me just how strong I actually am. I wouldn’t be where I am today without enduring the toughest obstacles that have been thrown my way. I just seemly keep pushing, keep believing, and keep saying that failure is not an option.

The Write Easley, LLC is where all business dreams come true. We are business mentors and consultants who have the client’s best interests in mind. We work closely with small, medium, and large for-profit and nonprofit organizations. We bring all documents to life that will be needed to make your organizations and businesses prosper. We are known as the “one-stop shop”. Our service area spans through all 50 states, 15+ countries, and 4 continents.

We never turn away clients because all individuals are welcome to inquire about our services. We specialize in Business Plans, Grant Proposals, and Grant Writing. Honestly, there is no service we do not offer to our clients. We want them to be able to focus on their businesses and organizations so that is why we seemly take the load off of them by doing it for them. We are mainly known for our Grant Research, Applying, and Writing of the applications.

I believe what sets us apart from others would be our professionalism, our drive to help our clients, our prices, and the value of the services being given. I treat all clients as I would want someone to treat me while getting the services we offer. I take myself out of that business mentality and place myself in the shoes of all of the clients we assist. This is how I relate to them. This is how I get to know them, and how we are able to gain their trust. It’s all about working together for the betterment of the company or organization.

I think brand-wise, I’m most proud of the number of clients we have been able to assist. I’m proud of a company I made that can carry so much weight in the industry. I love the legacy that it creates as well. The Easley name is one that will forever be known within the business world. It’s something that I always look back on. I like to see how far I’ve come and how far I can still go. It gives me motivation and it allows me to create larger goals.

What I really want readers to know about our brand, offerings, and our services is based on our mission. Our mission is to provide clients with the best services that they have been seeking but have yet to find. We understand how hard it is for clients to hire a professional to create a business plan or a grant writer to complete applications. We know that most clients do not have the funding to pay for such services or cannot pay large sums of money; because they do not have it or are a new business/organization.

We offer packages for clients because we want them to be able to still utilize the services of a business consultant or a grant writer without having to pay out a lot of money. It’s not about the money for our company. It’s about helping our clients to prosper. Everyone’s business is different but we have our clients in mind – not the amount of money we should charge for our services. That’s the last thing on our agendas when our clients come to us for assistance. We give back to those who are struggling to achieve funding for their amazing projects and organizations and we live by this.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is to see other people happy. I enjoy that so much because it just warms my heart. I’m more of an optimistic person and I try to always find the good in everything. Sometimes helping another person find that good will actually make them happy. Hence why I like to see other people happy.

No one wants to always walk around mad. It takes too much energy to become mad. Being happy and cheerful is something that comes naturally and I love to embrace that. There’s nothing like seeing a genuine smile on someone’s face and knowing that you had a part in bringing that smile on.
