Meet Kami Guildner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kami Guildner.

Kami, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After spending 25 years in the corporate world as a marketing and branding executive, I discovered my real passion is in people! Luckily for me, I was laid off in 2008 (like so many other spirit warriors who were destined to be on another path). Two gifts in this – first I would not have left the corporate world on my own, and second, it was 2008 when there weren’t other VP of marketing jobs out there in the downturn of the economy. By slowing down and tuning into my inner wisdom – I discovered that I was destined to be doing something different.

My big ah-ha came when someone told me about the work of integrating horses into coaching, leadership and personal growth work. As a lifetime horse person I thought that was the most amazing thing ever, and one month later found myself at a Northern CA ranch for a month becoming certified as an equine guided coach.

I started my coaching business 10 years ago this year – and have never looked back! Initially, my coaching work was focused on helping executive women discover their next chapter – one filled with passion and purpose. My book, “Firedancer: Your Spiral Journey to a Life of Passion and Purpose” was born from this coaching work and my own journey of moving through this big transformation in life. I also wrote a deck of “Pony Ponderings Inspiration Cards,” which daily inspiration to so many people around the globe!

Many of my clients went through my Next Chapter coaching programs and jumped ship out of the corporate world into the land of entrepreneurship – because they, like me – were meant to be doing something with more meaning in life. As my clients became entrepreneurs, I knew I had great experiences that could help them in growing their business – my many years as an executive plus an entrepreneur, my marketing expertise, and my deep soul work that awakens our inner wisdom. And so my business evolved.

Today my work is focused on helping women #RaiseUP their voice, their visibility, and their business. I believe women’s voices matter, and I am on a mission to help one million women step into their passion and purpose and create a ripple effect of impact around the world. My clients are changemakers, rulebreakers and women out to make a difference. In my coaching programs and my powerhouse mastermind group, my clients 1) align their voice to who they are and how they’re meant to matter, 2) Create the vision and strategy for their business to succeed in a way they want to succeed, and 3) #RaiseUP their visibility to reach the people they want to reach. It’s powerful work and I’m honored to get to work with the women in my client base who are making big changes around the globe.

I host a podcast called Extraordinary Women Radio, and recently celebrated my 100th episode. I tell the stories of extraordinary women around the world who are being called to lead with voice, vitality, and vigor. Check out my 100th episode with Zainab Salbi, the founder of Women for Women International! I’ve also partnered with the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame to tell their stories on my podcast. So many women who have inspired me with their stories!

I recently celebrated the ffive year anniversary of Extraordinary Women Connect – a series of events designed to connect great women to great women. And later this year, I will host my 5th Extraordinary Women Ignite event – a three-day event to help women #RaiseUP their wild success in 2020! In November of this year, I will also host my fifth Annual Extraordinary Women Ignite event, a 3-day conference that is designed to help women #RaiseUP their voice, visibility and business and walk into 2020 with a plan to make it happen.

Has it been a smooth road?
Ha! No! My road certainly has not been easy or smooth. Being an entrepreneur is messy. And it’s the messiness that gives us the best lessons. Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way include:

1) I had to do my deep inner work to understand my true purpose. It was hard work: emotionally and intellectually. It required slowing down and tuning in, in ways that I had never done before in my corporate world. It required learning to see the signposts that the Universe provides us along the way and learning to trust my intuition.
2) Business is a spiritual journey. Yes, there are linear strategic thinking that we need to keep our business running, but the magic comes in the spiritual awareness that we can bring into our purpose-driven journey of being an entrepreneur. This is where the Universe gets all in behind us, and helps us be in the flow (vs. in the hustle).
3) It is natural to want to follow all the shiny stars and “easy six-step” processes to success. Trust me. There’s no such thing. Growing your business is an inside out job. It starts with who you are at your essence, and the purpose you’re meant to make. Build your brand, your marketing, and your company from this perspective – and you will create a company unlike any other – because you are YOU-nique!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I help women build a soulful-inspired business. What is a soulful-inspired business? It is about making heartfelt connections to mindful strategies in your business. I don’t teach business growth formulas, because you are YOU-nique. Real business strategy is different – it’s built from the inside-out, not the outside-in.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Denver is an amazing place for entrepreneurs! We have a collaborative spirit – helping one another. The top leaders in the entrepreneur world of Denver are focused on community – and aren’t concerned about competition. We share a belief that every person has unique gifts to bring to the table, and there is so much lifting up of one another. I feel blessed to be a part of this community.
