Meet Naomi Robles and Cesar Valencia of Beyond The Literal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Robles and Cesar Valencia.

We’re adventuring partners for life!
Naomi and Cesar have been together on the adventure of life since 2006. They’ve navigated the ups and downs of life decisions, explored new places to call home, and dove deep into the rock climbing lifestyle while staying true to their beliefs and passions. Together, they’ve had the ultimate goal to create their own business, working side-by-side, traveling, giving back, and living every day to its fullest by doing the things they love the most.

“Beyond The Literal was created on one of many road trips (climbing, of course!). With a 27-hour drive ahead of us and nothing but our goals and dreams to share, we began to hypothesize out loud. And it was just like that. We had the light-bulb moment that finally answered our burning question, ‘how can we make this happen?’ It was right in front of us the entire time. By marrying our passions—my (Naomi) Beauty Director career and Cesar’s journalistic photography—we could work with amazing couples that wanted to unite in a unique way and create an extraordinary experience together.” – Naomi

Has it been a smooth road?
Over the last few years, we’ve stayed focused on our goals while still leaving room for opportunities to knock. We’d constantly spoken about wanting to live on the road and somehow working together on something we were both passionate about. About six years ago, we stay focused on savings, downsizing as much as possible, getting rid of the clutter and simplifying in a way that would allow us to pursue our dreams. With all these adjustments came our new home on wheels which we called NirVAna. We live in NirVANa full time which allows us to always be close to the mountains as well as have the financial capability to invest and get our business going. To some living in a van might seem like a struggle, but for us, it has opened the door to so many amazing opportunities and positive experiences. Starting any new business will always have its early struggles, but it must be looked at like a badge of honor. If you aren’t facing challenges every single day then you aren’t pushing hard enough. Make sure to always give yourself the opportunity to grow and as long as you follow happiness the struggles will always be positive.

We aren’t like your traditional duo, things are done a little different from us. We each have our own roles behind the business, as well as behind the camera. Let us explain…

Naomi is your Beauty Director, she helps with bringing your wedding day vision to life. We’ll discuss your hair and makeup looks for the day, styling details, and any artistic details to help create those love notes throughout your wedding day. During your elopement, she’ll be catering to you and your fiance’ ensure that you look your best throughout the day. This also means you have the opportunity to have a variety of simple looks changed, start your day with you simple look that allows for you to explore, hike and be relaxed. Before the first look, we’ll change your hair and makeup and for sunset photos, we can change it again. Honestly, it’s up to you! We’ll go over a detailed mood board allowing for creative opportunities, in turn having a variety of timeless photos to choose from. Before the wedding, Naomi is who you’ll probably be communicating with the most, answering emails, calls and helping plan those intimate details.

Cesar, on the other hand, is the big picture thinker, he’s scouting locations, looking up permit logistics, and always has the camera in hands. His charm and laid back personality let you feel like your new best friend is behind the camera capturing those real moments. Cesar’s goal is for your photos to have a timeless feeling, documenting those in-between moments and allowing the landscape to be apart of the story. When you work with two people who are extremely passionate about their own individual roles, as whole together, only great things are possible. We want you to have the absolute best wedding day, however, you choose to adventure.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
Colorado lends a hand to the people who want to explore, escape and live fully. The opportunities for everyday adventure are endless, you are granted with views for days and sunsets that leave you wanting to stay up all night just to see it rise in the morning. We can’t say enough amazing things about this beautiful state we call home. Living here has given us a chance to experience the world from a new lens, learning to live simply, and dare to dream. Colorado will showcase your purpose, ability, and relax your soul. Besides the beautiful mountains and amazing activities let’s not forget about Cuba Cuba! After climbing at The Spot Denver we can walk one block to Cuba Cuba and have some of the best Cuban food around. We could eat there every single day. Trust us, we know good Cuban food, remember we are from Miami. 😉
