Check Out Marley Bloodrose’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marley Bloodrose.

Marley Bloodrose

Hi Marley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my Glam Goth journey in my hometown of Woodbridge, Virginia. When I turned 23 I enrolled in Cosmetology school to become a runway makeup artist and hairstylist. I then went on to be a full-time makeup artist. I was in my room mixing glitters for a photoshoot and posted them on my socials and was so shocked when my followers wanted to purchase them! I then began the process of wholesaling and building my website to launch them.

Glam Goth became my entire life and my identity. During the pandemic when I lost my job as a waxer and makeup artist I really went super hard with Glam Goth and called out other people and brands for their lack of diversity within the alternative community which boosted my brand even further. In 2021, I moved to Hollywood, CA to further expand Glam Goth and my own personal career. Since then I’ve expanded into retail stores around the world, launched palettes and lipsticks, and even clothing and accessories!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve dealt with a lot of struggles since starting Glam Goth. I really did not know anything about business and makeup production at all. Everything I know I’ve had to learn on my own. I’ve had to deal with toxic relationships and friendships with people who just want to use and leech off of me to this day. It can be really lonely and overwhelming to run a business by yourself and try to find the right help.

Money management has also been a huge struggle because I was never really taught how to keep track of my finances. My mental health also can sometimes get in the way when I don’t take breaks or vacations like I should because I’m trying to keep up with so many things.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I’m most proud of is taking my life experiences and turning them into art whether that be a collection or a look or poetry. I specialize in combining dark and goth aesthetics with a glamour pinup and fantasy. What sets me apart is my authenticity, I will never create anything that is not true to me or my supporters.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What most people might not know about me is that I love all music! Country, blues, classical, I love it all.
