Meet Jenn Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Hernandez.

Jenn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had a dream… no seriously, I did.

My photography business was born out of a dream in September 2015. I had been a hobbyist photographer since high school, trying to find what was next. I had just left a corporate career of 16 years in mortgages and real estate.

Desperate to find new meaning and direction… God knew I needed help, He gave me a dream, very vivid! A download straight from heaven. I saw myself photographing amazing entrepreneurs, catching their vision and bringing their vision into reality through photography… I was SO excited when I woke! I shared this crazy dream with my husband (I’ve been married to my love for 25 years and we have a beautiful 16-year-old daughter)… he looked at me and said, “Well, I guess we better upgrade your equipment, hobby grade isn’t going to cut it anymore!”

See, this man of mine has always been my biggest fan and most avid supporter… I truly couldn’t do life without him. My daughter has always been my muse – she is the reason I picked up the camera again after high school was over… I just never imagined making a living doing it!

I’ve taken this dream into reality for myself and I have never looked back.

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think the entrepreneur journey is EVER smooth… so here goes the story of my struggle (well, one anyway).

Early on in my business… I had a major setback. I had just turned 40 and decided that this was the year I’d get in the best shape of my life. So, I joined a 10-week challenge, I would workout six days a week and commit to eating healthy, there was a winning prize in sight. I was five weeks into the challenge when it happened… I was coming from a bear crawl into a sprint on the mat (no shoes)… I lost my footing and fell forward hyperextending my right leg and long story short, fractured my tibia plateau in four places – needing a plate and four screws, 12 weeks of no weight bearing rest.

One might think I would let that be the end of my new beginning, BUT not this girl. I used this time at the beginning of my shift from hobby photographer to full-time lifestyle photographer to perfect my editing style, learn more about the type of photos I wanted to capture and building a new website.

When we have the right perspective on what comes our way – we can change the outcome. I used my accident and set back to catapult me forward, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m a personal Branding/Lifestyle photographer. I specialize in work with rockstar Entrepreneurs that are ready to stand out in their market space. They’ve worked hard to get where they are in their business. They are ready for the visual images to match the high quality that they bring to their clientele.

I work on a regular basis (multiple times per year), to keep their visual game current. I specialize in keeping the process of photography fun and effortless. With an innate ability to connect with my clients, catch their vision and bring it into reality. Rather they are updating a website, marketing images, launching an online course or wanting to up their game on social media.

It is through my own journey (painful and full of twists), along with working to master photography (I’m a continual and fervent student)….Through this continual learning, I’ve found the formula to allow me to support YOU. Bringing to life your brilliance, your gorgeousness, your talent, and your awesomeness to be both revealed & captured.

The results are portraits of you, feeling and looking your best, showing you in all your glory with quality images to match every part of your business.

Denver is the PERFECT place to start a business – loads of local support and resources! Our city is full of locations, venues, and parks that accommodate the growth of businesses. I’ve enjoyed being a business owner in Denver, as well as, traveling nationally to meet my clientele’s photography needs.
