Exploring Life & Business with Kelly Turk of The Elevate DNVR Collection

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Turk.

Kelly Turk

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Kelly Turk – I am the COO of the Elevate Collection and a Real Estate Broker with Compass in Colorado. I am also licensed in Tennessee, and I am supported by Compass in Nashville. Although I serve clients with a wide range of needs, I specialize in the relocation of professional athletes and C-Suite executives.

The Elevate Collection is much more than a real estate team with a presence currently in Colorado, Tennessee, and Georgia; we are a lifestyle brand that offers various services, including supporting professional athletes with cementing their legacies on and off the field through non-profit support and other opportunities. I have been in real estate for several years, and I have loved every moment of it! I am also a Regional Director for Rite of Passage, serving at-risk youth in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. I specialize in compliance and business management.

I grew up in Colorado and have spent my life here. I went to college for my undergraduate degree and my Master of Arts degree at the University of Northern Colorado, where I studied Criminal Justice. I was also a cheerleader at the University of Northern Colorado and participated in the co-ed cheerleading competitive and game squads all four years of my undergrad.

I am a mother to a vivacious little boy named RJ, who loves everything sports, especially football and basketball! His competitive nature probably comes from me and my years as an internationally competitive gymnast. I think that experience has translated into so many aspects of my life, including how I conduct myself as a professional and a parent. Reflecting on the formative years of my life, I am so grateful for those experiences and how they have helped to shape me into who I am today.

I truly believe sports is a foundational experience for children that teaches them transferrable skills they carry with them throughout life, and I am so grateful for the skills I developed as a gymnast.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As they say, smooth seas never made a skilled sailor. I have encountered a ton of adversity to get to where I am today, but who hasn’t? In the last five years, I would say my biggest challenges have been these… In 2020, I went through a difficult divorce. That was part of the instigation that sparked my drive to get my real estate license.

Over the last year and a half, I am finally at the point where I am speaking openly about my experiences. As a way to turn my pain into power, I have offered instructional seminars to other real estate agents to prepare them to deal with clients experiencing divorce or separation. I have helped several clients experiencing this situation over the last couple of years, and it has been cathartic for me to help others through circumstances similar to my own.

Holding two high-level positions in two different organizations continues to be a balancing act. Although the demands on my time change depending on the season, and I am grateful for all of the opportunities I have been offered, it can be difficult at times to feel like I am meeting all of the demands on my time and energy (family, self-care, and parenthood not withstanding). I continue to practice gratitude, and I learn every day how to continue to be adaptable to all of my circumstances.

In 2023 and into 2024, my father was diagnosed with cancer. He has undergone treatment that, as I speak, we are hopeful was effective; however, we don’t know yet. My father and I are very close, and this hit our family hard, as any difficult medical diagnosis would. This has contributed to my stress not only emotionally but also in the sense that I have to step up and be the answer for my family and the “rock” through the situation. Fortunately, I have an exceptional support system that has helped me to sustain myself emotionally, physically, and otherwise through this challenging time.

In the end, adversity is what helps you truly appreciate the highs when things are going well, and it always makes it easier to make it through the storms when you can find the lessons and be grateful for all of your opportunities. An attitude of positivity and gratitude will win the day every time.

We’ve been impressed with The Elevate DNVR Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
I am the COO of the Elevate Collection. I am a licensed real estate Broker in Colorado and Tennessee.

The Elevate Collection currently has a presence in Colorado, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Elevate Collection is comprised of teams of dedicated real estate professionals who are committed to providing an exceptional and unparalleled client experience. Although I work with any and all people from all walks of life, I specialize in the relocation of professional athletes and C-Suite executives.

The Elevate Collection offers various services and can handle the relocation of a professional athlete or executive from the beginning to the end of the transition. Additional services include professional organization, packing, the transportation of vehicles and pets, and other life-style management services. Additionally, we work with athletes to cement their legacy on and off the field, including establishing their own foundations, match-making the athlete with a non-profit organization, events development, etc.

I would say I am most proud of the service experience we offer to all of our clients, which promises a luxury experience at any price point. We are also preparing to put on our second annual gala in support of the Jonas Griffith Foundation that was able to raise nearly $50,000 in 2023 for the Denver Dream Center-a grass roots organization that offers youth violence prevention initiatives.

This year, Jonas Griffith (#50 of the Denver Broncos) is offering scholarships to local youth to support their attendance in college or post-secondary education. I am always happy to earn and complete for my clients business. I am more than happy to demonstrate what makes me different!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe that I possess several characteristics that are critical to my success. Being detail-oriented is chief among them. I pay attention to detail, which helps me make the transactions for my clients as seamless as possible. I connect with my clients so I can learn what is most important to them and how we can get them to reach their real estate goals.

I value continued education, so I am constantly educating myself and expanding my skill set to ensure I can serve my clients in the best way possible. I pride myself in being a market expert and being able to articulate what is happening in the market, how we got here, and where I believe we are going based on a variety of facts and indicators. I am willing to go the extra mile for my clients, I am extremely responsive, and I do everything I can to ensure complete satisfaction in your experience with me.

Finally, I am extremely experienced in negotiations and in developing offers and understanding contracts. I do not want you to just be happy with your transaction. I want you to be assured that I am assisting you in getting into the best situation I possibly can.
