Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Tipton
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started InVINtions, A Creative Winery in 2010 due my Mother-in-Law, Nancy, wanting to own a business and I wanted a career change. The two of us travelled around the world developing our passion for wine while tasting, learning, volunteering at many wineries. We learned from some of the very best and some on the other end of the scale. It was an incredible opportunity for both of us. Nancy and I began making wine in 2008 and felt confident in our abilities by 2010 when we opened our doors to the public! Fifteen years of business comes this year, 2025. A look back over that time allows us to see our development as Winemakers, business owners, and how much the business has evolved over that time. The most important product we have produced is a welcoming, supportive, and generous community that appreciates fine wine and good friends.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth in a business is a fairy tale isn’t it? Nothing has been smooth, as a family business, sometimes it is difficult to decipher if this is a family issue or a business issue. Staffing has been our rockiest road, however, it has definitely provided many life lessons we never thought we would have to learn. Getting in to the wine specifically, produce is always difficult to maintain, whether it is quality, availability, consistency or even production processes. Each year provides us with multiple difficulties, however, we have come to embrace those challenges and work through them.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the Head Winemaker for InVINtions, A Creative Winery, my goal is to produce incredible wines that our clients enjoy while allowing them to learn the process and educate on proper wine tasting techniques. I enjoy providing the wine training to our clients so they can begin to be more discriminate while tasting and purchasing wines. I am most proud of the wines we produce, we have taken a path with our wines that is distinctly different that many of the other Colorado winery’s. We produce wines with minimally invasive chemical profiles, allowing the grapes to stand out direct the flavor of the wine. Our Staff, our 75 in house produced wines, our wine education and our community that supports the winery is what sets us apart from every other winery!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Quality of the entire wine experience matters the most to me. Wine is defined by an experience, it should be welcoming, relaxing and of course appreciated. Appreciation defined by me, is a welcome when you arrive, your table is set to exact standards to make sure the apperance is perfect, quality and appropriate service is crucial, our experience enhancements with wine training, winery tours, fun and energitic staff and a sincere appreciation for your business creates the wine experience that makes us the best.
