Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Rodwin.
Hi Scott, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Rodwin Architecture is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year. Our award-winning 25 person firm specializes in deep green luxury custom homes, churches, restaurants and offices. We have built-a hard-earned reputation for design excellence, business integrity and friendly customer service. We offer design/build services which help our client stay on budget – they appreciate the signal-point responsibility.
We also have a strong ethos of community service. Every year, the firm chooses a pro bono community project, such as the Veteran’s Community Project or Habitat.. We provided discop\unted and probono services to the Marshall Fire rebuilding effort. Scott Rodwin, is the President of the American Institute of Architects of Colorado.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The building world is often challenging. Every 7 years or so there’s a recession which crushes the industry. Currently, tariffs and stock market chaos are causing major uncertainty for our clients. The bigger meta challenge is that construction costs in Colorado have historically gone up about 10%/year every year for the last 30. it has made construction incredibly expensive and out of reach for many people. We are constantly striving to provide good value to our clients, but it is challenging to meet budget expectations with that level of inflation in the industry.
Over the years we have pushed the boundaries on sustainable design, and have built multiple LEED Platinum buildings. Net-Zero Energy is our standard. The building industry is a major contributor to the climate crisis and we believe it’s our responsibility to mitigate that with sustainable design. Our clients also appreciate tiny energy bills and healthy indoor air quality.

My business partner Brandon David. He is the President of Skycastle Construction, our building partner. We’ve been doing design/build for 25 years – it’s our secret sauce and has led to very high quality projects and client satisfaction.
