Laura, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, I’m Laura Ramirez—Life Coach, Usui/Holy Fire®/Karuna® Reiki Master Teacher, and founder of Laura Ramirez, LLC. After 20 years working in public education as a school counselor, I followed a deep inner calling to shift toward healing and heart-centered work. In 2021, I opened my wellness practice in Berlin, Connecticut, where I now offer Reiki sessions and trainings, life coaching, breathwork, and other integrative tools to support mind, body, and spirit.
My work blends the spiritual with the practical. I love helping people reconnect with their own clarity and power—whether that’s through energy work, meaningful conversation, or mindful reflection. I teach all levels of Reiki and provide mentorship and community for Reiki professionals through ongoing support circles.
What started as a leap of faith has grown into a vibrant practice rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that we’re all capable of deep transformation when we’re met where we are—with warmth and respect.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—starting a heart-centered business from scratch takes courage, trust, and a lot of patience. When I opened my practice, I had zero clients. I didn’t come from a business background, so I had to learn how to put myself out there, build relationships, and trust that the right people would find me.
Financially, the beginning was hard. There were months when I questioned if I’d made the right decision, especially when income was inconsistent or slow to build. I had to get creative, stay grounded in my purpose, and continue to show up even when it felt like no one was watching.
But I kept going. I kept believing that if I built something genuine—something rooted in integrity and care—it would grow. And slowly, it did. Now, I have a steady flow of clients, a full range of offerings, and a community I truly love working with. The early struggle gave me a deep appreciation for the sustainability and ease I’ve created today.
We’ve been impressed with Laura Ramirez, LLC Life Coaching & Reiki, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Laura Ramirez, LLC is a heart-centered wellness practice based in Berlin, Connecticut, offering Reiki, life coaching, breathwork, meditation, and professional development for Reiki practitioners. What makes our practice special is the way we blend the spiritual and the practical. Whether someone is seeking deep healing, clarity around a life transition, or support in reconnecting with their inner wisdom, we meet them with compassion and grounded guidance.
I specialize in Reiki training at all levels—including Usui, Holy Fire®, Karuna®, and World Peace Reiki—and provide ongoing mentorship and a professional Reiki support circle for practitioners. What were you like growing up?
I grew up with a lovely family who supported me and encouraged me to do well. For much of my early life, I went through the motions—I followed the rules, earned good grades, and did what I was supposed to do. But I didn’t feel a strong passion or curiosity for any particular subject until high school, when I took a sociology class. That class opened something in me. I not only found it fascinating, but I had a natural understanding of people—how they worked, what drove them, and how relationships functioned.
From there, I pursued a degree in sociology and counseling, with minors in psychology and anthropology—basically, all of the “people” majors. Even as a teen, I was the friend everyone came to during breakups or personal struggles. I could see things clearly when it came to communication and emotional dynamics, even before I had formal training.
Later in life, I was introduced to more holistic approaches to wellness, like Reiki. That was a turning point. Reiki gave me a new dimension to the work I already loved—something more intuitive, healing, and energetically grounded. Today, I bring both the emotional insight and the energetic awareness into everything I do, supporting others in deep, whole-person ways.
