Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Cvetkovic and Theo Rhodius.
Hi Tamara and Theo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Honestly, our story kind of unfolded naturally without a grand plan. We met in Vail, a Colorado ski town, and what started as just hanging out and vibing turned into this incredible creative partnership. We clicked on so many levels—music, art, ideas—and eventually, we fell in love and started building a life where art wasn’t just a part of it, it was everything.
We began painting together with acrylics, just experimenting and having fun, and slowly those paintings started to evolve—bigger, bolder, more layered, mixing in epoxy, markers, and all kinds of textures. Our style became this colorful, emotional mix of storytelling and personal symbols, almost like a visual diary of everything we were going through. There are little secrets in our work, bits of real life woven into psychedelic worlds.
That passion eventually grew into The Dojo, our immersive art lounge in the Rocky Mountains. It’s part gallery, part creative playground, part nightlife venue. It’s a space where we can share not just our own work, but give others a platform too. We’ve poured our hearts into making it a place where people can feel something real—whether through art, music, or just the energy of the space.
As TAMTHE, we’ve taken that creative energy and stretched it into all kinds of directions—live painting at events, curating art shows, throwing immersive parties, designing installations, sculpting custom figurines, and performing music and visuals together. Everything we do is rooted in that shared passion and trust we’ve built over the years.
We never set out with a business plan or a straight line—we just kept following the projects that lit us up, learning as we went, and saying yes to every opportunity that felt aligned. That curiosity and love for creating together has carried us through everything, and it still does.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but honestly, that’s part of what’s made the journey so meaningful. Being full-time artists and building something from the ground up, especially something as ambitious and layered as The Dojo, comes with a ton of ups and downs. We’ve had moments where money was tight, where we were juggling way too many roles at once—artists, builders, promoters, problem-solvers—all without much of a safety net.
Finding a balance between creating freely and handling the practical side of things—permits, logistics, promotion, financials—has been a huge learning curve. There were times we felt like we were throwing ourselves into the deep end just to keep our vision alive. And of course, working so closely as a couple can come with its own challenges too. We’ve had to really learn how to communicate, support each other, and trust the process even when things felt overwhelming.
But through all of it, the hard moments have also brought clarity and growth. They’ve forced us to be resourceful, to think creatively not just in our art but in how we run things, and to stay grounded in our “why.” Every challenge reminded us that we’re doing something we truly love and believe in—and that’s worth every bit of the struggle.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our core, we’re multidisciplinary artists who live to create. Under the name TAMTHE, we work across painting, sculpture, installation, music, live performance, and immersive environments. We started with acrylic paintings, layering color, texture, and meaning into every piece—using materials like epoxy and markers to bring out depth and vibrancy. Over time, our work expanded into full experiences: curated shows, live painting at events, immersive rooms, and even handcrafted figurines with their own little narratives.
We specialize in creating bold, colorful worlds that feel alive—like visual diaries that blend our personal story with surreal, psychedelic energy. Our art is filled with hidden symbols, playful creatures, and emotional textures that invite people to look closer and connect. One of the things we’re most proud of is The Dojo, our immersive art lounge in the Rocky Mountains. It’s not just a space—it’s a living, breathing extension of our creativity. It’s where people come to feel, dance, connect, and get inspired.
What sets us apart is that everything we do is deeply personal and fully collaborative. We don’t limit ourselves to one medium or style—we follow our curiosity wherever it takes us. Whether we’re painting on wood, DJing together, building installations from scratch, or curating markets and parties, it’s all driven by love, imagination, and a desire to make people feel something real.
We’re proud that we’ve stayed true to our vision, taken risks, and built something that reflects who we are. TAMTHE is more than just an art project—it’s our lifestyle, our relationship, our legacy.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If there’s one thing we’d love to share, it’s that creativity doesn’t have to fit into a box. We’re proof that you can build something magical from scratch if you follow your passion, stay curious, and stay open to collaboration. Art is not just what you hang on a wall—it’s how you live, how you connect, and how you express what words sometimes can’t.
We also want people to know that The Dojo isn’t just our space—it’s for the community. Whether you’re an artist, a music lover, a dreamer, or someone just looking for a different kind of experience, you’re welcome. Come find us in the Rocky Mountains or online, see what we’re building, and if it resonates—let’s create something together.
TAMTHE is a journey, and it’s just getting started.
