Today we’d like to introduce you to Haleigh Watts & Maggie Berra.
Hi Haleigh Watts &, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Denver&CO. started the way a lot of great ideas do — over conversation and connection. We used to work together and through work, we threw a local singles event. After this event accidentally went viral, we kept hearing the same thing from people again and again: that Denver can be a hard place to make friends or meet romantic partners, even when you’re surrounded by people. We both love this city deeply and believe there’s incredible community to be found here — it just takes intention to build it. That realization sparked our mission to break that narrative and create something that helps people find meaningful connection in a more authentic way.
That experience inspired us to create something bigger — a community that makes it easier for people to find “their people” through shared experiences, collaboration, and creativity. We launched Denver&CO. as a modern, inclusive community where “CO.” can mean anything from Colorado, connection, collaboration, to company, and beyond.
Since then, we’ve hosted events that bring people together — like our Love Is Blind premiere watch party — and each one reinforces why we started: to help Denver feel smaller, warmer, and more connected.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’re only about a month and a half in, and so far the reception has been incredible. We’ve been blown away by how many people are craving genuine connection and are excited about what we’re building. Our professional skillsets complement each other really well, which has made the road relatively smooth so far.
If anything, our biggest challenge has been finding our individual footing within Denver&CO. — learning how to stay authentic to who we each are while collaborating in a brand-new way. We’re both bringing different perspectives and strengths to the table, and finding that rhythm together has been a growth opportunity in itself. But honestly, it’s the best kind of challenge — the kind that keeps us learning, evolving, and pushing the brand forward with intention.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Denver&CO.?
Denver&CO. is a modern, inclusive community built around one simple idea: connection doesn’t have to be complicated. We specialize in creating experiences that help people find their “CO.” — whether that means company, community, collaboration, or Colorado itself.
We’re not a traditional social club or event company. We’re a connection collective — a launchpad for authentic relationships in a city that sometimes gets a bad rap for being hard to meet people in. Every event we host is designed with intention, from the vibe to the guest experience, to make it easier for people to show up as themselves and walk away with something meaningful — a new friend, a creative idea, or a deeper sense of belonging.
One unique aspect of what we’re building is that Denver&CO. is intentionally co-ed. We aim to create spaces where both men and women feel equally welcome and encouraged to connect — whether that’s at an event or through our online community. We believe everyone deserves a place to find their people, and we’re here to support both men and women in building their circles and communities alike.
What sets us apart is our authenticity. We’re not trying to be exclusive or overly curated — we’re trying to be real. We care deeply about inclusivity, community, and creating spaces that feel comfortable for everyone, no matter their background or social circle.
Brand-wise, we’re proud of how quickly Denver&CO. has already resonated with people. The brand feels warm, modern, and a little funky — just like the city itself. At the end of the day, we want people to know that Denver&CO. isn’t about fitting into a scene — it’s about finding your people, your city, and your CO.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
We’ve been so lucky to be supported by local businesses and creators from the very beginning. So many have shown up for us — sharing and reposting our events, donating raffle items, reaching out to collaborate, and helping us bring our ideas to life. A big part of Denver&CO.’s mission is to spotlight, support, and work with local businesses while collaborating with creators to highlight the diversity and creativity that flows through Denver. It takes a village, and Denver&CO. is no exception — we know we wouldn’t be where we are without that collective energy.
Improper City deserves a special shoutout for being the first to believe in us and host us — that partnership really set the tone for what Denver&CO. could become. From there, we’ve had so many small businesses and creators step forward to collaborate in ways that remind us why we started this in the first place.
We’ve also had people come up to us in public and tell us how much they love what we’re doing or that they think it’s brave to take this kind of risk — and those moments mean everything. Denver&CO. was built for the community, but it’s the community that’s truly been building us right back.
