Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Damron.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started off in the wellness industry as a certified personal trainer. I worked in several different settings doing that including gyms, weight loss camps and corporate wellness centers. I realized through these experiences that people needed more than just exercise and some nutrition to get to their health goals and feeling their best. Simultaneously, I had several close family members that were going through serious health concerns and I knew there had to be a way to both prevent some of these diseases and also, treat them in a more holistic way.
This is when I got interested in more holistic health practices and therapies and one thing led to the next and I learned about Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. I went to school at The Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, got my Master’s degree, moved to Denver and then started a family.
I grew to love caring for women and their unique hormonal health concerns. I have gone through some myself and this experience led me to be able to understand women’s health first hand and be able to care for my patients better.
For the last eight years, I’ve run my own successful private practice as an acupuncturist.
Three years ago, I wanted to impact more women, share my stories of health and wellness and also my expertise, so I also started an online business where I offer digital courses, The Ali Damron Show podcast, 1:1 holistic health consultations and lots of education. This side of my business is located at www.alidamron.com.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! I don’t think anything worth having is easy. I have had my fair share of struggles with operating my business.
I started my business when I was six months pregnant with my first son. I was naive in how to start a business. This business was a total DIY along the way of learning and lots of trials and tribulations.
It was difficult for me to learn how to balance motherhood with business ownership because both take an enormous amount of time. I eventually went on to have my second child two years later as well. It was a total learning experience and I had to keep coming back to the drawing board.
I also thought that once I opened my brick and mortar practice and started marketing a little bit, people would just come. Little did I know how difficult it would be to even get patients in my door for a few years.
I tried running my business in several different ways from renting space to becoming an employee at a chiropractic office. Both had their pros and cons for sure.
I had to read lots of books, ask mentors, listen to podcasts and just try lots of different marketing strategies to learn how to actually acquire patients in the beginning. That was very disheartening – all the work entrepreneurs do “for free.”
It pays off in dividends in the end, but when you’re trying to contribute to your family, it’s hard in the beginning. I’m thankful I had a supportive husband that always allowed me to dream.
I am now happily in a space with other health practitioners running my own business and have a wonderful online platform to share my message too!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Denver Acupuncture and Wellness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a licensed acupuncturist and I specialize in women’s health. I also have an online business on www.alidamron.com where I talk about how to be hormonally balanced, healthy and happy so you can live your life’s purpose without any of that getting in the way.
I am very well versed in both Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine and how the female body operates. I know the physiology of how to have happy hormones, but I also talk about mindset a lot. I believe that our mindset directly relates to how we feel physically, including how balanced our hormones are.
I have shared this knowledge with hundreds of women now and simply by changing their lifestyles and the way they think, they have healed quicker and more sustainably than through any other approach. Most holistic health practitioners will address nutrition and supplements, but unfortunately, many don’t address the fact that our mindset directly impacts our hormones, anxiety/depression symptoms and how we feel physically overall.
In my business, I also use a variety of modalities from acupuncture, herbs & supplements, nutrition and exercise.
The focus in my business is on issues like painful periods, PMS, fertility, hormonal balancing, weight loss, pregnancy, and postpartum, and menopausal symptoms.
My mission is to educate women about the importance of health and teach them how to be healthy.
There’s a lot of information and misinformation out there that is confusing. Many women don’t know what to believe or where to start.
Providing natural approaches to healing and getting women looking and feeling their best is what I love to do.
I am proud of how much compassion, empathy, hope and healing my company offers to women.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have lots of big plans for the future! I want to continue helping women heal in my private acupuncture practice and sharing my message online to thousands of women!
To keep sharing my mission, there are lots of avenues that can help to do that including live events, books and more digital programs.
