Hidden Gems: Meet Janna Meller of Scentrique Niche Fragrance Boutique at Park Meadows Mall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janna Meller.

Hi Janna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Six years ago, while visiting my cosmetologist, I discovered three fragrances in her office that truly captured my heart. I immediately felt compelled to visit the Scentrique boutique where they were sold. From my very first visit, I fell in love with niche perfumery and became a loyal customer.
After moving to the United States from Vancouver, I was presented with the opportunity to become a business partner, and together we opened our beautiful niche fragrance boutique at Park Meadows Mall.
That is how I entered this industry. I feel incredibly fortunate to combine business with something I genuinely love and enjoy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything is progressing well. At this stage, our primary goal is building brand awareness. As we opened just three months ago, many people are still discovering us.
However, everyone who visits our boutique leaves truly impressed, as we offer a unique and carefully curated selection of niche fragrance brands that cannot be found in traditional department stores.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Scentrique Niche Fragrance Boutique at Park Meadows Mall ?
The first Scentrique boutique was opened five years ago in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Scentrique boutique at Park Meadows Mall opened in mid-November 2025. This is our first boutique in the United States.

We offer a unique and carefully curated selection of fragrance brands from France, Italy, South Korea, Australia, and the UAE. Our portfolio includes brands such as Initio, Maison Crivelli, Born To Stand Out, Amouage, Parfums de Marly, Goldfield & Banks, Maison Mataha, and others.

In our boutique, clients can purchase samples to experience how each fragrance develops on their skin before committing to a full bottle. We also sell online and ship orders the same day they are placed.

We are located inside Park Meadows Mall, next to The Cheesecake Factory. Our boutique offers a convenient location with ample free parking available for our customers.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
For me, the most important factor in the success of a niche perfume boutique in a shopping mall is differentiation through experience and expertise.
In a mall environment, customers are surrounded by mass-market brands and promotional offers. To succeed, we have to offer something they cannot find elsewhere — a carefully curated selection of distinctive fragrance houses and a truly personalized approach. It’s not just about selling a product; it’s about guiding the client through a discovery process.
Another key element is knowledgeable and confident consultants. In niche perfumery, storytelling and product expertise are essential. Clients need to trust that we understand the brands, the compositions, and how a fragrance interacts with their skin.
Equally important is the atmosphere of the boutique. It must feel refined, welcoming, and elevated. From lighting and presentation to customer service and follow-up, every detail should reflect quality.
Ultimately, success comes from creating loyalty. When clients feel understood, educated, and inspired, they return — and they share their experience with others.
