Today we’d like to introduce you to John Carmona and Eric Fuller.
John, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Barber Theory was started by two partners that shared a common vision in the industry of hair. John Carmona and I have both been successful barbers in Denver for several years, and have built a strong reputation and clientele within their circle of business. We both love what we do and have given many hours of our time to become masters of our craft. As an ever-changing industry, we believe that the key to great service is top tier education and second to none customer service. Barber Theory is meant to be a no-frills clean, upscale, modern shop, where the focus is on giving a great experience, as well as a technically sound approach to haircutting. Adopting the tag line “expression through image” we believe that your haircut speaks volumes about who you are and we want to bring the best out of every guest that sits in our chair.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road is always rocky especially for the first time start-up business, but the journey is what makes the destination so much more fulfilling. Since both of us are first-time business owners, we really didn’t know what to expect and basically have felt like we are “building the plane while flying it”. Thankfully, we both have a strong clientele and our clients have been gracious and encouraging during our transition. We still find new challenges every day but it feels as though the road is smoothing out and we are getting somewhere now.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Barber Theory – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
At Barber Theory, we strive for a higher level of excellence and a well-rounded approach to haircutting. We pride ourselves on being able to cut and type of hair and are always working to improve on what we already know. Eric has deep roots in Denver and has built a strong local following with all his connections, while John has traveled all around the world to teach his hair cutting approach to the masses. Combined together, our reach spans not only a local small-town level but also an international market as well.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love the vibes that Denver brings. I have never lived in a place that I’ve been more excited to come back to every time I travel. Denver for the most part always feels like home and brings a supportive, positive, welcoming vibe to residents and strangers alike. As far as what we like least about our city? I think we can all agree that with a growing city comes more construction and road closures, and for me personally, that’s never a fun time. However, I truly love my city and if it means putting up with a little construction to live somewhere so beautiful, that is a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
