Today we’d like to introduce you to Lana Blum.
Lana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey of creating Rising Frequency is a personal one. At the end of my twenties, living in NYC running my own business and traveling, I had experienced one of my first times what it means to hit rock bottom. I took on way to much in my life and my body said no. In the following years and till today I have been struggling with anxiety. In order to get my life back into the place of balance, I had to change a lot of things in my life. I started meditating, working through my old irrational fears and listening to my body.
It was the first time when I was envisioning a jewelry line which can help me and others to center ourselves and create reminders for our everyday life to stay on the path. Rising Frequency was born a year after I moved to Denver and settled into this beautiful city which grounded me after the fast-paced life I lived in New York.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I learned to love every challenge I have been facing so far building businesses. For me, one of my learning experiences was to lead my own business and not letting the business to lead me. I started my first company right after college and I had no idea what I’m getting into. It was exciting to build but I also realized that there is the danger to take on too much, get into the hassle without really having a plan on how to build a work/life balance. It happened to me – I was often overwhelmed and tired.
It’s one of the most beautiful things to be able to do what we truly love but in order not to lose myself, I needed to become more organized, disciplined and taking time off even if it felt like I can’t because I’m overflowing with work. I know my body and my mind will be grateful for those changes I made in my lifestyle.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rising Frequency – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a jewelry designer and digital artist. My passion is to bring science and art together. As a child, I was intrigued by natural phenomena, the cosmos, human psychology and how it all connects together. I love to find patterns, systems in nature which can be visualized and turned into something beautiful. My current work is my jewelry brand which is based on patterns created by vibrational frequencies, also called cymatics. These patterns emerge when we put a water bowl for example on a speaker. I combined the science of vibrations and took the chakra frequencies from the eastern system to create patterns for my jewelry collection. I believe that building this brand my biggest accomplishment was being vulnerable and sharing my personal journey along the way. It was a big step for me to create a life style brand which had a deeper message and being ok if it’s not everybody is comfortable with. I know that the people who will recognize the value of the jewelry have been looking for exactly the same message and depth I’m offering.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
My parents raised me with an open mind and they always encouraged me to go beyond the surface. When I was worried or afraid my mother always comforted me and told me that I don’t have to be like anyone else.
When I told my parents that I would like to be an artist, I was worried that they will tell me that it’s not an education which will necessarily guarantee me a good income, but they were exactly the opposite by encouraging me to do what I love. My mother said: “If you do what you love, you will always be successful.”
With the guidance of my parents and support as a child, I believe that I’m less afraid to take risks and fail, and I believe those are important skills to acquire in order to be successful in life.
