Today we’d like to introduce you to Matti Berglund.
Matti, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Oslo, Norway. I was a very creative child, always dreaming of becoming an artist. My imagination and my dreams became the most important aspect of my paintings. I manifest my dreams through my artwork. Travel is also important as I pick up influences from every corner of the world. I love living in the USA as I love diversity.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an artist is never a smooth road.
Bottom line it’s hard work, but very rewarding.
Worrying about finances. Worrying that you’re never good enough.
At the end of the day, you get through these struggles as the urge to create is even greater.
For years I used alcohol to self medicate. One year ago, I decided to become sober. Mostly out of curiosity to find out who I really am and how this would influence my work.
Please tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Painting is my favorite child. But I also make fashions and knit, embroider, sew, also I do light carpentry. I have a wast collection of power tools, lol
I’m very proud to say I’m making a living as an artist. I have come to realize my work has a healing energy that people need and crave. This is the most amazing gift I was granted.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is maintaining status quo. Also, I would like to use my voice to help build a sustainable future for all of us.
