Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Matthews.
Kyle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The entrepreneurial bug bit hard, and at a young age. I started my first business at 15, a high-end auto detailing business that would go on to employ five team members and put me through college. While at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, I studied (you guessed it), Entrepreneurship! This was a tough major, but I learned a ton. School also toughened me physically and emotionally. I competed with the Shippensburg Boxing Club based on the suggestion of a mentor, and that experience molded my confidence for future trials.
I LOVE building relationships…it charges my batteries! Selling became a natural fit, and I was successful across many industries and for businesses large and small. Getting back to my roots, I founded Inspiration Industries so that I could use this platform to inspire and make an impact across several industries and spheres. Today, that includes doing business development for a couple amazing Denver based companies, staying committed to being a quality connector, and launching the soon to be established Family Adventure Reviews channel on YouTube. Nothing is more fulfilling than making a positive impact on the community, especially in the form of facilitating new friendships that last for years. Speaking of impact, my purpose is simple- Inspire others to live out a better story. Let’s connect on LinkedIn and start a conversation!
Has it been a smooth road?
Ha! Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. As a family, my wife and I have lost two wonderful boys very late in pregnancy. Our losses of Mark (2013) and Tyler (2014), where earth-shattering, and it took lots of tears, love, and commitment to come out on the other side even stronger than ever. Family is everything, and I give all the credit to my amazing wife Kristine, easily the strongest person I know. Together, we’ve created a life in Denver that is rich in adventure and significance. This continues with the birth of our son Rhys in October of 2018. I’ll take just a second to hop on a soapbox and say that in Colorado, one in four women will experience early childhood/pregnancy loss, and I want to normalize the grief journey. If this hits home for you, know that you are loved and you are not alone.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Inspiration Industries story. Tell us more about the business.
Key Connections, Real Relationships, Quality Content
If you’re growing a business, or are a part of a large organization that needs significant change and new (proven) ideas, there’s a good chance I can help! Also, if you like cars that never hurts 😀
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Across the board, there’s no denying that technology continues to make a significant impact. Specifically, we’re talking about automation, AI, payment processing, marketing, and security. However, one thing that is not changing is the power of authentic relationships. In my opinion, both are necessary for 95% of all businesses. You need strategic partners to grow, but you will need technology solutions to build a company beyond the size that the team can handle without automation. Companies that can do both will be able to scale and weather economic downturns.
