Meet Andre Fabre of Lunar Plus in Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Fabre.

Andre, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In a nutshell I just never gave up on myself. I always believed that I was destined to do something great. But to give you a quick summary, I was born and raised on the westside of Chicago but I’ve been living in Denver for some years now. I’ve worked almost every job you can think of including managing artists and promoting nightclubs. But nothing compares to what I’m doing now. Lunar + ( Lunar Plus) was honestly created last year when I was in a dark place. I was going through a lot with my prior business and was having family issues which led me to be lost. Lost of myself, my identity and what my soul purpose was in life. Then something came to me and reminded me that what I was going through was part of my journey. A journey that I had been on my whole life. Yea things were bad at the time but I’ve been through worse before and I always pulled through. So from that small self-motivation and confidence, I started thinking of a way that I can not only help myself but also help others because I knew that I wasn’t the only one going through this. I’ve always wanted to have my own product and be business guy. It’s just always been a goal of mine. Then right after that thought a light bulb went off.

As crazy it sounds the word “BackPacks” came to mind!!! Then I started researching the industry and there were all of these brands that had been around for a while but none of them I felt loyal to and none that represented success, never giving up on your dreams or setting goals and achieving them which is where “Lunar+” name came from. Always shooting for the moon!!! And then I started thinking about how many times I would fly somewhere and my phone would be dead or how there was never a good spot to put an extra pair of shoes without them touching anything else in the bag. We live in a time now where one full phone charge isn’t going to last us a full day. Our phones is like the remote control to our lives. It crazy to say that but its true. Our phones connects us to our family, friends, our business, social media, emails, it let us capture pictures/videos that we can share with others, I mean so much. So from there I got on the phone with my good friend/partner and told him the ideas I was having and how we can really help out so many people and without any hesitation, he was on board. We both believe with this 16″ laptop bag with a built-in USB charging port, a power bank that charges any usb device up to 3 times, a shoe pocket and much more, that we can change the way a backpack company communicates with the consumers. Instead of just focusing on the appeal of the bag, we’re also focusing on the needs required to get you through your day. We want to build a community that supports every experience a day brings, no matter what it looks like.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, nooooo….far from it. There were struggles with designing the logo which was done by my guy “Jr Gonzales”. We went back and forth a lot but we finally got it right. And then there was designing the bag, finding a manufacturer that would work with me even though I had no experience in the industry. It took me about four to five months to get the prototype but it was worth the wait.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Well, I am the founder and Ceo of new company which means I do everything lol. I do have a small team of people helping me with marketing, sales and product development but I am very hands-on in every department. What I am most proud of is being able to create something that people can utilize daily whether they are traveling, going to the gym, going to school or just going to work. What sets us apart is our mission. Yes, we want you to enjoy the bag but we always want you to remember that anything is possible. Life is a journey; you just have to trust it.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Yes, first my family back home in Chicago. Mom, Grandma, sisters, brother, cousins, friends (the whole tribe). Throughout my whole journey in Colorado that has been there with me. I keep all of them really close to my heart. I wouldn’t be who I am without them. Second is my pops and the whole Fabre family here in Colorado. My dad has been through a lot in life, so me doing what I do keeps his spirit alive and I’m glad that I can do that for him. Next is my guys Devin, Greg, Anthony, and Jay. My four brothers!! I can talk a lot about each one. They all have been there for me through thick and thin.

I mean I have stories on top of stories. I’m very thankful to have them in my corner. And last but not least my amazing and beautiful girlfriend Marvel aka ‘MoMo”, her praying and loving mother Celine and sister Blessy. They have been through this whole Lunar Plus journey with me. They watched and helped me build this thing from scratch. Throughout the whole process, they were helping with photoshoots, building the website adding new features to the bag, literally everything. I love them all very much and is really grateful to have them in my life.
