Meet Brad Nixon of Nixon’s Coffee House in Wash Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Nixon.

Brad & Caren Nixon took their love affair with coffee and community public when they acquired 
a coffee shop in Englewood Colorado to start Nixon’s Coffee House in 2011. After years of sitting in coffee shops while doing technology and management consulting and even helping his church launch a coffee shop, Brad realized there were some missing elements in local Denver coffee shops essential to a workforce that was moving from a formal to casual work environment. As a result, they created a place dedicated to consciously creating community for all through the simple act of preparing and serving each guest at their coffee house great coffee and food. Central to their mission, they wanted to serve each guest in a loving and caring manner, while providing a safe place for all to share life with each another.

Has it been a smooth road?
As we have grown and expanded we have worked hard to adapt to the changing Denver market. We originally thought our new place in the Wash Park area would serve beer and wine but after some reflection decided in favor of keeping the environment nonalcoholic and serve local Colorado Kombucha from multiple brewers instead. Nixon’s was an early adopter, serving Kombucha since 2014, so we knew what we were getting into and decided to go deep with 17 taps of Kombucha. It has been wildly successful at our Wash Park location (the largest Kombucha Taproom in Denver) so we have been working through our other locations to add multiple Kombucha taps to our lineup. We have found that Kombucha is a wonderful compliment to the coffee, tea, and food we already serve. It’s a refreshing drink without the caffeine kick for those who want something different than an espresso drink.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Nixon’s Coffee House – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Nixon’s Coffee House is dedicated to helping people in our community experience personal value, relationships, and purpose through the simple act of preparing and serving great coffee, kombucha, and food in a welcoming environment. Even though each Nixon’s location has its own look and feel to serve the community where it exists, you will find the same great staff focused on making each guest experience unique and meaningful.

Along the way, we also started Share Good Foods to provide high quality food that is made fresh daily. We like to say we created a scratch kitchen and artisan bakery experience for the grab-and-go marketplace. Our FDA facility in Englewood makes sandwiches, salads, baked goods, pastries, and snacks for about 60 outlets. This helps each outlet focus on building profitability and community in their business while we focus on being their food expert by providing great wholesome foods.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love Colorado and all that it has to offer people who love the outdoors. Where else can you ski in the morning and go golfing in the afternoon. This great environment has attracted wonderful like-minded people to the area.
