Meet Michelle Vos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Vos.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Michelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’d love to be able to say that I planned out my Business Model, wrote a stellar business plan, had the capital needed and had my Brand and Messaging nailed down before I left my stable career to start my own company. NOPE. Not me. I got myself fired! Never wrote a business plan, or had any significant money is savings. I knew nothing about what it took to run a successful business when I made the decision to GO For it Anyway.

You see the thing I did have was a clear intention. In fact, I had planned (emotionally) to leave my company as soon as “they would be OK without me”..HA! I know right! So when I got myself fired, I took that as a sign that it was time to make my big move.

I had a powerful level of trust with my intuition and my ability to manifest what I am aligned with. I knew that it was my time to start my own company to create a career I didn’t need a vacation from and a life on my terms. That leap was 17 years ago and my business has evolved and grown with me just as I wanted it too.

Back then I knew nothing about how to run, market, or launch a business. But I did know how to “trust my next best step”. Which is what I was forced to do (sometimes kicking, screaming…and the crying- oh so much crying). I was single, had a mortgage, and no real savings, so the fear of “not making it” was very real. I felt all that fear and kept moving every day towards the Vision that I held while trusting my choice and following my intuition as to what to do next. I also learned as I went. I found the right book, talked to the right person, enrolled in the right workshop all in the right timing for what I needed to know when I needed to know it.

I also held the confidence of 3 main things: 1- I was really freaking good at what I did! I never doubted that or wavered on the use of my natural talents and skillsets. 2- I always charged what I was energetically aligned with to receive. It did not matter to me what my “competition” was charging. I did what was aligned for me, and that always worked. 3. I always held a clear vision of what my soul came here to do and I stayed true to my Core Values within every aspect and stage of my business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it has not always been easy. Besides all the “normal” struggles of being a Solo-Preneure, I had to really practice what I preached. I say I trusted my intuition and this path I was on. But man, when you look at your bank account or client project pipelines and it’s not looking promising, you can spin out into fear fast! I had to lean into all the parts of me that I had been avoiding. I had to put into practice all the spiritual stuff I’d learned over the years.

Mustering up the courage to get out of my comfort zone to try new things was BIG. One of the things that “life” presented to me along my career was an opportunity to do Public Speaking for the first time. The idea of even holding a microphone sent a wave of numbness through me. I was so overwhelmed by this idea that I couldn’t even feel anything! The opportunity was aligned and I knew it was the right move at the right time, but that did nothing for my fear. I had never spoke in public before I stood in front of 50 people, hyperventilating with anxiety. What I learned from that first experience was that I can BE REAL (as I calmly told the audience that I needed a moment to catch my breath as I’m not kidding about hyperventilating) I found that they did not judge me for that, they supported me in my real-ness. I had a really good laugh about this whole “first time thing” as many years later, I started a branch of business teaching an Embodied Speaker Training course and a three day event. Oh how far we come when we muster our courage!

I also felt like I had to really balance the “advice” my mentors gave me with what I felt called to do within my business. There was a ton of support I received while navigating how to stay empowered to create my business on my terms. At the time, I didn’t realize that going through this would be so much of what I help clients with now. Not following cookie-cutter formulas. But learn lots of ways and tap into your higher Guides, your Intuition, and what the energy of your business wants, and choose from there. I focused on being fully expressed, being seen, heard, and valued for the truth of who I am, which became a mission of mine for myself and now for my clients. This is at the foundation of everything I do.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am The Visibility Expert and Personal Development Coach for Women Visionaries. I use innovative and unorthodox tools for transformation to support Leaders, Conscious based businesses and Influencers, to SHOW UP fully, and to stop hiding. So they can make the real contribution that is meant for them and receive the financial success that comes along with living your mission.

In a nutshell, I’m known as the “Visibility Shaman” who incorporates Deep Inner Work, Strategy and Humor to awaken the truth of who you are, so you can be seen, heard and valued in the way you want, in Life and in Business. I am also known for keeping it real so don’t be shocked if I drop the F-bomb on occasion.

My clients are self-aware Entrepreneurial Women and Leaders, who are Major Influencers. I teach, mentor and coach then thru a unique set of practices, that support them within the personal and business components of Vision, Value and Visibility. They learn to operate from their brilliance, own their worth, show up and communicate the truth of who they are, so they can have the real freedom they seek.

One of the things that make my work unique is that I provide business and visibility strategy with spiritual-energetic principles for a process that is sustainable and effective! I know and understand the “how-to” of Business Building/Growth, Branding, and Marketing and I teach this when needed. I am surprisingly good at strategy. I say surprisingly because I have always relied on my talent of being highly Intuitive. And what I have learned is that the marriage between the two is the sweet spot and my favorite place to play.

I believe with all my being, that WHO you are being (the energetic state of YOU) is more powerful than you can even know. It will repel or magnetize your ideal clients, staff, or audience. People like to focus their attention on getting the right marketing message or a shiny website and I am here to tell you, it won’t work the way you want if your out of alignment with WHO YOU ARE MEANT to BE.

As far as a “proudest moment of my career so far …well, I really can’t say there has been “one moment” that I am more proud of than another. I can think back to many clients who did the work and watching them succeed is crazy rewarding! Yet being proud of that, is only egos way of “proving worth”. And if you give into feeling proud of clients’ success you are energetically taking responsibility for their transformation. Which is dis-empowering to them. So I’d say Happy is the energy I feel about my client’s success!

What I can say is that I am proud that I never gave up. Owning a business can be really hard at times. I took the time to reflect on where I was going and where I had been when my business needed that. I am proud that I listened to advise that resonated with me and left the rest. I am proud that I did my own personal work to BEcome who I needed to BEcome in-order to do my best work. I am proud that I show up perfectly imperfect. And that I have created a thriving business that fully supports my lifestyle desire and my SOUL!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Camping at the Beach with my family. We were very lucky to own a trailer in CA and live around 30 min from rustic, wild, and beautiful beaches. Being able to grow up spending so much time near water was such a joy to me. Being in nature, finding seashells, digging for sand crabs and rescuing starfish that got stranded by the tide. I loved everything about it. Our favorite place to camp was Jalama State Beach and for any of your readers, they will also agree that the little (and I mean little) shack of a general store and hamburger stand was (and still is to this day) the BEST hamburgers on the planet. Seriously!
