Meet Brian Collins of That Party Truck in Central Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Collins.

Brian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up as a kid, I wanted a fire truck, like most boys! I started DJing while I was attending CSU in 1997, and have been entertaining folks ever since! Being in the mobile DJ business for over 20 years, I was looking for something new, and refreshing to keep me motivated. I knew I still wanted that fire truck but didn’t know what I would do with it once I got it.

Then, about eight years ago, I had an idea to put a sound system, and TV’s on a fire truck, and make it suitable for outdoor events. Over the years of planning in my head, and doing numerous outdoor events, I kept adding stuff to the truck that I thought would make it unique. I ran the idea across my business partner, Mike Crabtree, and along with input and ideas of his, That Party Truck was born!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been smooth, for the most part! There was no blueprint for this type of thing, so there were a lot of trials and figure out a way to do it better along the way! We currently have two trucks, and we are constantly adding to them both.

That Party Truck – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
That Party Truck is the Ultimate mobile entertainment platform. Self-powered, we are a self-contained mobile entertainment setup! The trucks themselves are what set us apart from others. Nobody out there has anything like our trucks. The trucks have sound systems, satellite TV, photo booths, beverage tap systems, lounge areas, and a SKYdeck to name a few options. The response to the trucks was overwhelmingly positive last summer and fall, and that is what we are most proud of!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was very active as a child. I played sports and liked to be in social settings. Music has always been a passion of mine as well. I have always been more of an analytical type, kind of sit back and observe, then execute.
