Today we’d like to introduce you to Reed Mosimann.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey as a wellness professional goes all the way back to a gift I received at the age of eight, from my mom… a “Vegetarianism for Dummies” book. I chose at a very young age to make a unique dietary choice that led me to learn all about nutrition and fall in love with understanding the human body and mind (though I am no longer a vegetarian, I am grateful for this choice that led me down a path of learning). Growing up in a health-focused family and dancing throughout my young years left me with a deep passion for wellness. I truly found my calling when I sought out the opportunity to teach group fitness in college. Everything about the experience excited me – the music, the energy, the opportunity to positively impact others. I knew that my future would continue down the path of wellness, as I became a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and continued to soak up any bit of wellness education I could get my hands on!
After working in the industry for a few years (it’s now been seven years!), I realized that I had begun coaching my clients in an intentional fashion, to help them stress less, eat smart and move more. It became clear that I was ready to launch my own business and begin sharing my passion for creating sustainable habit change in my clients, outside the walls of someone else’s business model. Beyond coaching clients and providing wellness solutions for businesses, I also love the creative world of blogging. I absolutely adore the opportunity to share recipes and content that helps my readers and clients make progress with their health. It’s all about taking small, simple steps in the right direction! I feel so honored to provide coaching that helps improve the health and lives of others every day!
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think anyone’s entrepreneurial journey is a linear path, but as long as you know the “why” behind the daily grind, it makes the journey beautiful, no matter where the road twists and turns. I sincerely cannot imagine life any other way at this point, because the opportunity to pursue something far bigger than myself is fuel for me every day. Every small client success reminds me why I do what I do. When your job makes your heart swell with joy, puts a giant smile on your face and occasionally brings tears of happiness to your eyes, you know you are doing the right thing 🙂
I love the quote by Victor Frankl, “when you know you’re why, you can endure anyhow.”
Find your “why” and never let it go!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Fit Feed by Reed story. Tell us more about the business.
The intention of my work is to help others STRESS LESS, EAT SMART and MOVE MORE. I coach others with the intention of creating sustainable habit change, not a quick fix, not a temporary exercise or nutrition plan, but something you can hold onto for life.
As a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I provide one-on-one coaching services, small group coaching and wellness solutions for businesses. Whether coaching people in-person, virtually or sharing content on my blog, all guidance I provide aims to show my readers and clients that it is all about taking small, simple steps in the right direction.
A lot of wellness solutions these days take a drastic approach to movement, mindfulness and nutrition that creates temporary change. I have so many clients who come to me after spending thousands of dollars and years worth of time on their health but are at the same starting weight and more discouraged than ever because these programs don’t set them up for long-term success. I take a very different approach to build confidence and create change, one health habit at a time!
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
I think we are often our own worst enemy in this realm because we allow self-doubt to hold us back. We allow the expectations and words of others to infiltrate our minds and restrain us from our true potential. You have the power to take hold of your own life. If you have an idea, try it! if you have a thought, share it! If you want to change something in the world, step into your power!
