Conversations with the Inspiring Natha Campanella

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natha Campanella.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, if an adult was angry, I would feel the uneasiness of their temper in my own body.

I sensed that I had done something wrong and it was my job to fix it, so I smiled and tried to be happy and “good”. In the process, I lost touch with who I was.

Feeling the emotions of others is a strange skill to have, and if you’re reading this, you probably have a similar skill. I had no idea any of this was even happening until I began to study astrology.

It was because of what felt like chronic emotional confusion and discomfort that I put myself in traditional therapy at age 18. For the next several years, I began to understand more about myself but in small pieces.

Throughout my 30’s, I studied many modalities related to the intersection of psychology and spirituality. I explored the connections between our bodies and our emotions, I learned about meditation and presence, and I researched the impact of our history and conditioning on our nervous system. Later, I become a certified life coach because I could help people see the underlying dynamics in their lives with far more accuracy than they could. After all of that though, I still felt something was missing.

Within the last several years, I’ve added “astrologer” to my resume, alchemizing all that I’ve learned into working with clients as a guide; astrology was definitely the missing piece. I help people understand their history, identify blocks and blind spots, distinguish their powerful gifts, and make decisions about their future, using the wisdom of astrology.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of my clients come to me for answers.

They don’t know what they want, or maybe they do but they don’t know how to get it. Some are in relationships where they feel invisible or bored, some want to understand why they’re emotionally repressed or explosive. Some are muddling through life, working overtime for approval from family, or at work, and some are just curious: what does astrology have to say about them that they haven’t been able to see for themselves?

Through studying my own astrology chart, and later, the charts of clients, I know that astrology doesn’t disappoint. Both an art and a science, it’s the ancient study of planets in the sky and their associated human archetypes. It’s not unlike any personality typing system such as the Enneagram or the Meyers Briggs. It simply gives you accurate and highly personalized descriptions of your predictable crises and highest potentials.

Some people hear “astrology” and dismiss it as hokey. I can see why! Horoscopes are how we’re usually introduced to astrology, and they tend to be pretty useless. An astrology reading though, well, those are rich and nuanced. The first time I got an astrology reading, it felt like common-sense guidance from a wise elder.

A good reading isn’t about scary prophesies, and it won’t gloss over real-life struggles. It should be objective and validating. If you’re doubtful of the legitimacy of astrology, get a reading from a professional astrologer. I’ve read for many a skeptic who admitted to the accuracy of my interpretations and left, delighted to have gained fresh insight into their life and personality.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m an astrological guide; I help people establish direction, or reorient in their lives.

If you’re psychically sensitive (as most of us are), I can explain why. If you’re an overachiever or a people pleaser or your nervous system gets easily riled up, I can give you the reasons for those things.

Most of us have thorny emotions and prickly logic that we bump up against and think “I’m uncomfortable, something has to change, but I don’t know how to do that”.

In an astrology reading, we uncover how to make those changes. For example, if you’re bored with your job, you may be considering a new career, but underneath that- what’s the boredom really about? Do you feel unappreciated? Does your workplace have an exhausting company culture? Are you not stepping into your full potential? The boredom shows up to get your attention.

In a private astrology reading, we assess the discomfort in your life, uncover the questions and the underlying issues, and of course, find the solutions.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
When I look back at how confused I used to be, I can see why.

Many of us do what I did as a child, we obligate ourselves to making our parents happy, or we assume that their disappointment, sadness or anger is our fault. We absorb their emotional distress.

My astrology chart showed me those tendencies, and I realized I was still taking responsibility for the happiness of others, even as an adult (light bulb!). It even showed me how to disengage from those patterns. Seriously- this is a true tool of wisdom that gives people a language and framework to help them recognize themselves.

I really value the work I do. My clients have shared with me that the things we’ve talked about in their readings changed their lives, awakened them, and set them on a more aligned life-path. I love that!
